Pearly Shells
Quintessential 1950s kiwi bach with panoramic views over looking Ruamahanga Bay, boat ramp, sandy beach and oysters on the rocks 400 metres from home. Sit among Pohutakawa trees and native birds and enjoy the sunsets, as our bach has for the last sixty years. Fifteen minutes drive from Thames, five from Tapu pub, mussel farms, Waiomu cafe and Kauri bush walks. Forty five minute drive to Coromandel, Cathedral Cove and Whitianga. The bach is made up of a kitchen/dining room, a separate lounge, two bedrooms and a bathroom. There is an outside deck with a BBQ, and outside furniture. The bach is small but very quaint and retro. It is situated on a quarter acre site overlooking the sea. A path with a few steps lead up to the house. There is a top section which is flat and a great place to sit under enormous pohutakawas with beautiful views of the sea and sunset. I have very friendly neighbours who will be available to help if I am unable to greet you. The area has great bush walks, biking riding and fishing spots and a swimming beach at the bottom of the road. There is a fantastic cafe close by, also a dairy and local pub. You will need your own transport as there is no buses to Ruamahanga. You could get a taxi from Thames. I do not supply sheets and towels, however, if you are travelling from overseas and are unable to bring your own I can organize this. TV has an inbuilt DVD player and there are DVDs to watch. The TV has Freeview. Please use the Freeview remote to change channels. If it's 5 star luxury you are wanting this bach is not for you. It is old and quirky.
