Enjoy meals with family and friends in the open plan kitchen diner with fabulous space for celebrations and food preparation and a large dining table to seat eight. It's very well equipped with everything you'll need for full self-catering including oven, grill, dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, gas hob, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother, microwave and toaster, plus pots, pans and utensils. The relaxing lounge has two huge sofas and comfortable chairs overlooking your private terrace, with the meadows and winding river beyond. There is a Smart TV so perhaps this is your chance to binge watch those box sets you've been promising yourself? There are three bedrooms upstairs; one double, one twin and the master ensuite room, which can be set as kingsize or with twin beds if preferred. As well as the ensuite shower room in the master bedroom, there is a separate large family bathroom upstairs with a big tub and double sinks, plus a downstairs cloakroom. WiFi provided, plus towels and linen and there is space for two cars on the gravel driveway if closely parked. You’re around 50m from the centre of Alfriston (albeit on a quiet, private cul-de-sac) so you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to eat and drink, from cosy tea-shops to elegant restaurants and friendly village pubs so you should find something to suit all tastes. Visit the Clergy House, the first property bought by the National Trust, St Andrew’s Church, known locally as the Cathedral of the Downs, walk along the River Cuckmere or head to the coast and the magnificence of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters (a delightful day-walk from your cottage). You can use local buses to get around, but a car is very handy although you can walk all the ay along the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne. How about taking tours of the nearby vineyards? Or taking a bike tour (you can hire bikes, including electric options)? Eastbourne is just the other side of the hills which has all the essentials, cinema and real life if you fancy it or head in the other direction to sample all the delights of Brighton. It feels rural, but cosmopolitan life is within your reach if you hanker for for it! A well behaved adult and neutered / spayed dog will be considered, so ask about our selective dog friendly accommodation policy (a £50 supplement applies).
