Second floor studio apt. with large eat in kitchen in quiet, rural, residential area. Available outdoor yard space for guest use. Nice walk to country store, bakery, 2 pizza shops, brewery, gas station with Dunkins, library, and Post Office. Easy access to Rt 91 and Rt 2. Eight min drive to Greenfield, 15 to Brattleboro, 20 to Northampton. Close to Northfield Mt Hermon, Stoneleigh Burnham, Deerfield Academy and Thomas Aquinas College. Close to VT and NH and (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes to many ski slopes. **We have always had a very stringent cleaning protocol and are adhering to CDC cleaning guidelines related to the Covid pandemic. ** **Please inform yourself during the pandemic for any travel restrictions and guidelines prior to finalizing your booking.** This is a NO SMOKING and NO PET listing! The no smoking applies to the studio as well as anywhere on our outside premises. Note that the studio is on the second floor that is why we do not recommend it for guests that are unable to climb stairs or have mobility issues. The studio apartment is tastefully and uniquely decorated. The eat in kitchen includes a beautiful table, large enough for work and play. A comfy chair and a cozy bench to relax are also in the space. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, spices, including salt and pepper, cooking oil, tea and coffee, all your basic needs. We offer a Nespresso coffee maker with a selection of pods, homemade coffee lightener and sugar. There is a full size fridge, electric stove with oven and a Microwave. If you want to bring your favorite ground coffee mix go right ahead, we have a french press for you. You will find dishes, utensils and glasses. Portable fans or heaters are not permitted. The living/bedroom contains a comfy queen size bed with great bedding. Relax in one of two great chairs, read a book or play board games. You might even want to try your hand at a puzzle. There is fast, very reliable WIFI on site. Your gadgets can be recharged in USB ports located on the night stands, the kitchen counter and obviously any outlet via the right connectors. There is also a wireless charging/ ultraviolet unit for your smartphones. A window air conditioning unit is available between June 15 and September 15. The heating season begins on September 15 and ends on June 15. You will find tips for shopping, restaurant listings and places to visit to help plan you stay. A comfortable twin sized folding cot can be set up for a third person. Please let us know about the need when booking. The rate for the additional person is $30/ night. We have a train running behind our property with 2 Amtrak trains, scheduled for 1:30pm and 4:30pm. Occasional freight service, no more than 2 trains within a 24 hour period. Guests have access to the entire 2nd floor studio and are welcome to enjoy part of the outside space. You will find a comfy area with several chairs near the parking area. There ia a gazebo where you can eat your meals or just relax during the warmer months. A fun hanging chair is also available to you. You can also take advantage of our neighborhood with an easy stroll to most places within our town, such as the pizza shops, bakery, corner store, library, brewery and more. Most places are within a 15 minute walk according to many of our guests. We will be available either via email or text through the AirBNB app. We live on the premises and love to meet our guests and make every effort to do so sometime during their stay. Communication prior and throughout your stay is very important to us and helps ensure a quality stay. We will text you check out instruction either the night prior or the morning off your check out date. A text when you leave will give us access to the studio to check and make sure nothing was left behind and to be able to prepare the studio for incoming guests. Bernardston is a small rural town in north western MA on the VT border. The many hills in Bernardston are an eastward extensions of both the Green Mountains and the Appalachians. It was named after Sir Francis Bernard who was the governor of the colony of Massachusetts from (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) It was settled in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and incorporated in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) It is the home of the Bernardston Historical Society, the Kringle Candle Co., and the Hitchcock Brewery. Within walking distance, (around 15 minutes), is a bakery, 2 independent pizza restaurants, and a Country store with a deli, as well as Dunkin Donuts. We are an easy drive to southern VT, NH, and the Berkshires. There are a variety of ski areas in the tristate area within an easy 60 to 90 minute drive. Don't rush, get a good night sleep and get to your destination before the slopes are open for business. We are close to the renowned Mohawk Trail and scenic Rt 9 in VT. We provide a great base to enjoy hiking, biking, boating, or simply a scenic drive in beautiful New England. There is no public transportation available. Buses or a daily train can be accessed from the transportation center in Greenfield, a 6-9 minute drive from here. It is about an 18 min drive to the train station in Brattleboro, VT. Maximum 3 people per night. A folding twin cot is available and can be set up for a 3rd guest upon request. There is a $30.00 per night fee for the cot. Please contact us prior to booking regarding an extra guest. We do not allow unregistered visitors, including day visitors, unless prior arrangements have been made with the host. No unregistered overnight guests are allowed.
