1895 Victorian B&B in the heart of Elkins wv

1895 historic Victorian, in downtown Elkins' WV. "It's like staying at your artsy Grandmas in town". Elkin's is a small mountain destination, that's a certified Art, Tree and Main Street community. The Mon National Forest, caving, climbing, ski resorts, tubing, white water rafting, Thomas and Davis are a short drive. We are within walking distance to excursion trains, pool, park, Davis and Elkin's college, library, Rails for Trails, shops, restaurants, galleries and music. some renovations now We offer two bedrooms on the second floor with Queen size beds and a communal Bathroom and shower down the hall with total access to most of the house, porch and back orchard. The extra beds are two couches, that can be made up. The study can also be private and has a half bath (soon to be a full). We have a cook's commercial kitchen that you are welcome to utilize, there will be two spaces in the refrigerator that are reserved for our guests. We live on premise and offer coffee, tea, water, some local goodies and an occasional organic tart, quiche, etc... Comfortable, unformal Walking, bicycles, car. Parking is public and can be lacking at times. As Artists and Musicians, we are very social. It depends on the guest if they want to interact with us. We respect the privacy of all our guests and have placed informational maps that outline area restaurants, entertainment, places of interest ; these are located in the rooms for the convenience of our guests. So, its very easy to be completely independent while visiting. Parking can be a little lacking if El Gran Sabor is having live music. There are bike rentals at Joeys Bike shop and everything is within walking distance. Since we purchased this property in 1999, my husband and I have been on a mission to save and revert the property( with amenities) to its formal glory. This old house had seen over 100 years of mistreatment and should have been condemned, as you know that didn't happen. Since that time, this house has had many incarnations, she was a Café "The Posten House", an Antique Store and an Art Studio " Studio 405". During those years, many who had lived here, came back here; all had stories and all said the same thing, " We were so Happy Here"! We are still working on the "Old Girl", she is a labor of love.
