Ideal location for cyclists and walkers: Head South to the Western Lakes, East to the Northern Fells or North and West to the quiet lanes and coast of the Solway AONB. Further afield, but less than an hour's drive, you can easily reach Gretna Green, Hadrian's Wall Country, the Eden Valley or Ambleside and Windermere in the Central Lake District.
