The village has a friendly pub, popular Italian restaurant and coffee shop. The location is ideal for walkers and those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors or simply just relax . Our property sits within 3 acres of garden on the bank of the River Derwent and we are able to offer fishing to those who are interested . You are welcome to relax and enjoy the extensive garden and river frontage at your leisure . We sit within a wildlife corridor with a lovely river walk on the doorstep . Our home was built in 1826 by John Annandale , a wealthy paper mill owner and is referenced in Nikolaus Pevner’S Buildings of England. Bedroom and bathroom are accessed by the main staircase. Short walk into the village - Shotley Bridge with a friendly village pub Crown and Crossed Swords serves food , Italian restaurant Sale Pepes & coffee shop Isabellas . Good Cantonese restaurant in Iveston 10 mins drive. Doorstep country / river walks , and a short drive to North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty . Durham and Newcastle are both approx 20 mins drive . Free Parking on site . Just a short walk into Shotley Bridge or a 20 mins drive to Newcastle , Durham , Corbridge . Good bus links to the nearby cities . Local taxis if required . Breakfast is included . Fruit, cereal , toast , tea and coffee .
