Historic 1777 farm with modern amenities

Whatever season you come, this house has it all: In ground Pool, sauna, and a 6 person spa is located for big sky star gazing, and lots of area to play. The farm is located right between The Marlboro Music Festival is mid July to mid August and the Green River Music Festival in July. Drive 1/2 hour to Greenfield, Shelburn Falls in MA or Brattleboro, Vt. for restaurants and shops. Whatever the season, whatever the reason, get away, relax and enjoy the privacy and beauty of Southern Vermont. Ancient updated homes bring a sense of quiet history as their vibe. This house has had many updates over the years to make it the comfortable cozy home it is. In summer most of the time is spent outside, but in winter the fire place in the living room is inviting and the hot tub just outside is an absolute must after a winter day outdoors. The kitchen and pantry has most of the tools needed to prepare for a Thanksgiving feast or a Christmas in Vermont get away. Whether your visit is in summer with a pool house stocked with pool toys and games or in winter with puzzles and more games, there is something for everyone. As an aside, the pool has a separate alarm for the protection of the children. Because the house is old the only place you probably won't want to go is the cellar...not the basement, but the cellar. It's good for root veges, and wine and that's about it. So, I generally can be reached, but am not in the area and so if there is a problem, please do call me and if there is no answer at the moment you call, check the House book and the names of people who could help are in there, as well as on the wall in the office. So, when it comes to a neighborhood, we really don't have one in the traditional sense. It is surprising the interesting people who live up in the hill towns of rural Vermont. We have 1200 acres of conservation land behind the house and we have come to know most of the people who surround it, but bottom line (Website hidden by Airbnb) very private. GPS is not a reliable way to get (Website hidden by Airbnb) cell towers. However, we are about 30 minutes to Greenfield, Massachusetts or to Shelburn Falls and 30 minutes to Brattleboro, Vermont and exit 1 on Rt. 91. NH is just over the Connecticut River down in Brattleboro. We are privately situated in the small hill town of Halifax, but convenient to shops and restaurants near by. This house is not in town...whatever town. It's along a country road and if the weather gets wonky, the electricity may go out. It may not, but we've sort of gotten used to that possibility, so you have to be open to it. Most of the time, it's not a problem and it hasn't happened in quite a while but I mention it as an FYI. Another thing is that the house is a home and not just a rental property. It has basic condiments and spices etc.so come with your food and drink.
