Gleneda is a delightful Cotswold stone cottage located in the picturesque village of Bourton On The Hill. Newly renovated, the cottage is fully equip with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The cottage is ideally located for exploring close by Cotswold market towns, villages and local attractions. The well known Batsford Arboretum, Bourton House and Sexincote are a short walk down the hill and there are many beautiful walks on the doorstep. This spacious terraced cottage has a wealth of character features, including oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls, elm floors and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. Recently refurbished the character of the cottage is perfectly complemented by its modern facilities, including high speed fibre optic internet access, a beautifully presented fully equipped kitchen diner. The cottage is the perfect place to retreat to after a busy day exploring the Cotswolds. You enter the cottage into the cosy and tastefully decorated living room which then leads out into the spacious kitchen and dining area with an outside south facing terrace and garden. A winding cottage staircase leads up from the living room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms; Master bedroom, a light an airy room with a king size bed and ensuite shower room. Along the landing is a double bedroom with exposed beams and original elm floor. Adjacent to this is an elegant shared family bathroom with roll top bath. A door on the first floor landing opens to reveal a second flight of stairs that leads to a large attic, full of character with exposed beams and twin beds. The cottage is accessed from the road down four stone steps to a small outdoor area and the front door, these steps are shared with our neighbor. There is no allocated parking on the premises but it is possible to park outside the cottage for loading and unloading the car. Parking is easily available on the little side road few metres above the cottage to the left. A bus stop sits opposite the cottage with buses running to and from - Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Norton, Chipping Camden, Stratford on avon and many other villages. There is also a train station in Moreton in Marsh if you are travelling to us with no car available. Co host Carie Ann will be on hand throughout your stay should you need anything. Bourton On The Hill is a pretty little village set on the side of a hill with wonderful typically Cotswold views. It is ideally situated to explore the Cotswolds and its many market towns and places of interest. Bus stops are located a stones throw away from the property. Batsford Arboretum and Falconry is only a few minutes walk away as is Seizingcote House and Garden with its unusual history, wonderful gardens with an Indian influence and a chance to have afternoon tea in the Orangery. Bourton House and garden is also a short walk down the hill from the cottage and offers a stunning garden and the opportunity to have afternoon tea. A five minute walk up the hill is the Groom and Horses a recently refurbished pub offering good food and a large garden. The typical Cotswold Market town of Moreton in Marsh is less than a five minute drive away and has a number of pubs and restaurants as well as many tea rooms to choose from. There is also a train station here In the other direction just a short drive away is the well known Market Town of Broadway. There are many wonderful Cotswold walks in the area, some are directly from the cottage, offering stunning views of the countryside and surrounding area. Moreton In Marsh has an extremely good hospital with its own accident and emergency department which is open between 8 am.and 8pm. Shopping - the garage at the top of the hill above the cottage is walking distance , open 24 hours and has a well stocked mini market with most items available including a comprehensive selection of 'Cook' meals. Moreton In Marsh has a wide variety of independent shops as well as a large Co-Operative Supermarket, Aldi Supermarket and Tesco Express. There is an excellent Chemist shop and an Information Centre. Moreton In Marsh has a Railway Station with a line from Worcester to Oxford and London. There is a regular local bus service between Moreton In Marsh and Evesham stopping at Bourton On The Hill . Parking in Moreton On Marsh is free Parking for the cottage is found easily on the little side road just to the left as you go up the hill. from the cottage.
