Grade II listed 17th century barn in picturesque Shropshire village of Cheney Longville provides a unique getaway in the heart of the South Shropshire countryside. An ideal place for families and friends to get together. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Built in 1745 the barn has been lovingly converted into a unique living space. The open plans living area consists of kitchen, dining area and sitting room using the full height of the architecture and revealing many original oak beams and stonework. Natural light floods the space via the floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen and skylights in the roof. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may needs to make family meals and has a well stocked spice rack and fresh herbs in the garden. The living areas has a large oak dining table which can seat 12 and a comfortable seating area around an open fireplace. The master bedroom on the ground floor has an emperor size bed and a 42" TV screen. The en-suite has a walk-in shower and cast iron roll top bath. There is also a separate dressing area with plenty of hanging space, dressing table and hairdryer. Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom, adjacent to separate WC with basin, suitable for children and adults. The second floor bedroom has a standard double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and basin. There is also an open plan space on the upstairs landing equipped with sofa, large TV with DVD player, lots of DVDs and board games. The spacious lawned garden is ideal for kicking a ball around or outside yoga. The whole barn and garden is available for exclusive use. The barn sleeps 6 but there is an option to also rent an adjoining annex which sleeps 4, thus increasing capacity to 10. I live in village with my husband and family and will be available should guests need any help during their stay. Mill Meadow is set in the hamlet of Cheney Longville which dates back to 1394. It provides the perfect location to explore beautiful South Shropshire. Highlights include wonderful walks over the Long Mynd and visiting the medieval town of Ludlow, 15 minutes drive away. There are also plenty of scenic walks directly from the property. There are no shops or pubs in the village but Craven Arms is only 2 miles away and has a big supermarket and all the necessary amenities. All major supermarkets will also deliver to Cheney Longville. Cheney Longville is located 2 miles from Craven Arms train station - on the Manchester to Cardiff line. Easy connections to London, Birmingham and Manchester. By car, Cheney Longville is situated one mile of the main A49 road connecting Shrewbury and Hereford. There is ample parking at the property and storage for bikes is available. The Upper floor is accessible by spiral staircase so may not be suitable for small children or elderly. There is also a step up and over a beam to access the upstairs bedroom which may cause problems for people with limited mobility. There is also a 1 bedroom annex adjacent to the property which can be rented through AirBnB in conjunction with the main barn. It can sleep an additional 4 people in a king bed and double sofa bed. If you are interested in renting this, please contact Andrea.
