Relax and escape to our charming, one of a kind cottage. Beautifully decorated with period furniture and tastefully updated with modern amenities. The cottage offers slate tile and hardwood floors. Original pine floors line the upstairs loft bedrooms. Cook in a French inspired country kitchen with butcherblock counter tops. Rural setting, yet minutes away from everything! Downtown is a 20 min. walk and the Metra will take you to the city in 45 minutes! The Walnut Cottage of Barrington gets it’s name from the lovely walnut trees that line and surround the property. Our charming cottage sets on a large yard with a screened in Veranda that will make you feel like you've stepped into a bye-gone era. A great space where you can enjoy a good book or just some quiet time. There is also a fire pit to gather around at the end of your day for everyone to toast s'mores or a special occasion. The Main floor is where you'll find the Master bedroom with the most comfortable mattress! Full bathroom with shower and jetted tub, Zoom/Office room and and elegant farmhouse style table to gather around for dinner. Two bedrooms are upstairs with lofted ceilings and skylights to view the moon and stars. Each room has a cozy reading nook. The living room and game room are located in the fully finished basement. The Smart TV offers Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and many more! The sofa is a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping space. There is also and additional full size bathroom located off of the living room. Laundry facilities are also available if needed. There is a cozy screened in Veranda that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a bye-gone era. Bring a book and a cup of tea and curl up in a chair and enjoy the soft sounds of the breeze going through the trees. Nice fire pit area to relax around and toast s’mores or hotdogs! Or just recapping the day with your friends and family under the stars. We live off premise but will be available through the Airbnb app if you should have any questions or needs! The cottage is one mile from downtown. You can walk (20min) or drive. The are various restaurant and charming shops for you to explore! We will provide several recommendations of great places to eat and other activities near the cottage. Several Forest Preserves, trails , and a public golf course close by if you’re looking to spend some time outdoors. There is parking up to 3 cars in the driveway. Plenty of parking in town to shop. No public transportation other than the Metra. There is also a split level deck in the back of the cottage with outdoor seating and a basketball hoop.
