Historic Apartment on the Woodstock Square
Located right on the Town Square, your private apartment is in the heart of Woodstock's downtown district. The apartment spans the full second story of what was once a 1900's saloon, 1920's confectionary shop, and a jewelers during the 1930's. Now a landmark, the neon glow of the Elgin Watches sign is the first thing travelers see when they turn onto Main Street en route to the Square! Your one-of-a-kind apartment is situated next to the beautiful Waverly Ballroom, lively restaurants and bars, and across the street from the beloved Woodstock Movie Theater. Skylights illuminate the space during the day, and the dazzling theatre marquee by night. The apartment features a full kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. Guests have a private entryway to the space for access at any time of day. The business located on the first floor of the building is owned and operated by your host, Colleen, offering guests extra security and ensuring that assistance is never far away! A home away from home, weekend retreat, home-base for remote work, or just an excuse to get away for a while, 216 Main accommodates it all, including furry family members! Your apartment is located on the Square, meaning everything "Woodstock" is no more than a few minutes of walking away. There is free street parking throughout the town, right outside of the building during the day, and vehicles can also be parked for free overnight in any of the town's 24-hour lots. We recommend the lot behind the movie theater for overnight parking, as it is no more than a 2 minute walk from the building. The apartment is also just down the street from the Metra train station making car-free travel to and from Chicago or O'Hare Airport a breeze. While this is a full, private apartment, we can be available in person should any need arise. While the town of Woodstock claims much of its fame from the Bill Murray film, Groundhog Day, the downtown district has much more to offer. All within a few blocks from the apartment, one can spend an entire day exploring restaurants, bars, galleries, antiques, diverse shops, cafes, and parks. During the summertime, the Square hosts a robust farmers' market every Saturday morning, evening concert series, and a plethora of other events year-round! Since your apartment is on the second floor, access requires climbing a flight of stairs. While there will never be any noise disturbance from our business on the first floor, there are several bars and restaurants on Main Street and events take place several times a year at the Woodstock Square gazebo. The Pourhouse next door, other establishments, and events on the Square occasionally become lively during weekend evenings.
