Bongopix Lodge 2
Campfires, canoeing, live music, nature, and making friends. That's Bongopix! This is a private room at Bongopix Lodge. This room includes 2 double beds and private bathroom. Included: bedding, pillows, towels, hand soap (no shampoo), and mini fridge. There's also a coffee maker, mugs, paper plates, and bamboo cutlery in each room. We like to warn folks that we are a social place and that there can be loud music, as well as cannabis, tobacco, and alcohol consumption on our property. Due to our liquor license, all overnight guests must be 19+. Unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions to this rule, so please don't inquire if you're travelling with anyone under the age of 19 (including infants). It's a space that's best enjoyed by people who are looking to socialize with others. Our property is shared with other guests. Here are our COVID-19 guidelines: - No access to Common Areas at this time - Saturday Music is occurring virtually; currently, we cannot host indoor gatherings due to COVID restrictions. - In the summer, Each room has its own private canoe. Your lifejackets and paddles will be in the closet of the cabin. Please return the lifejackets and paddles to the cabin closet when finished. Your canoe will be next to your cabin. Don't forget to take your "orange safety bucket" when you go canoeing. If the police are checking boats for safety on the lake (it happens randomly once a year) then you must have the orange safety bucket to avoid a fine. - Dogs must be leashed at all times while outdoors to prevent any accidental contact with other guests (animals can transmit COVID-19). Dog owners: please be mindful of guests who might be uncomfortable being approached by dogs. - All check-ins will be contactless! For our veterans, you already know where to go and how to make yourself at home. If it's your first time, we'll send you a detailed list of instructions on how to get to your unit and let yourselves in. - 3 separate firepit areas will be set up (no communal firepit) and you'll have to bring your own wood. Each firepit will be labeled with your room number, so please ensure you use the firepit that is associated with your room. We will outfit all rooms with mugs, a coffeemaker, kettle, mini fridge, bamboo cutlery/plates, and a small propane BBQ. We won't have any shared food prep areas or equipment. Bongopix is for musical and social people. We are active hosts. There is a high chance for you to meet new people, especially on weekends. The biggest party night is Saturday night. If you want quiet and privacy, we are not a good fit for you. We do not enforce quiet hours here. WALK to: Algonquin Park hiking trail (5min), Mad Musher Pub (WiFi-5min), Breakfast Diner (10min), LCBO Beer Store (10min), Supermarket (15min). DRIVE to Algonquin Park East Gate (5mins) or CANOE into Algonquin Park (50mins). Please plan your transportation in advance and ensure it is reliable; having access to a car is the best way to experience our area. In the summer season, you can try using Parkbus, which offers transportation from Toronto to Algonquin Park. Keep in mind that there is no daily shuttle from our town to Algonquin Park, but Parkbus will bring you to our area if you don't have access to a car. If you use Parkbus, plan to spend most of your time here in Whitney. The closest hiking trail in Algonquin is 15 kilometres from our house and not ideal to access by foot. Luckily, we often have super cool people staying with us. If you make friends with folks while you're here, you can always try carpooling into Algonquin with others! Unfortunately we don't offer refunds if transportation falls through, so please keep this in mind when you're planning your trip. On some nights there will be late live music. Warning, bring EAR PLUGS. The biggest party night is Saturday. Water is safe to drink! We filter and regularly test our water, it is certified safe to drink by a government lab analysis. Our canoe/kayak rental is free for Bongopix guests. You will sign a waiver and follow our safety rules. For your safety we only allow the canoes/kayaks when the weather is good. What to eat: 1. Cook on our BBQ! 2. Bring sandwiches, veggies/fruits, and snacks (you have a mini fridge) 3. Eat at our 3 local restaurants within walking distance!
