Biniali is a hamlet or llogaret located in the township of Sencelles that grew until the vineyard crisis of the late 19th century caused its decline. The lands of Biniali were part of the Arab farmstead Bânû Alî, hence its current name. Located west of Sencelles, it gradually became consolidated thanks to agricultural activity until the phylloxera crisis of the 19th century caused the decline of this small village. However, there is evidence of a human presence there as far back as prehistoric times, and up to eight archaeological sites have been documented, including the Cova Monja cave, which has important Talayotic burial sites. The town was configured in the late 17th century and early 18th century. The first oratory was requested during this time (1671). Most of its buildings are two-storey houses and use traditional architecture of this time, although there are also a handful of larger houses. Some of the most unique buildings are the Sant Cristòfol (Saint Christopher) parish church, the rectory, the houses of Can Grau, Sa Clastra and Son Raió, and a small cemetery. Other important heritage sites include the Biniali well, the monument to the Immaculada Concepció (Immaculate Conception) and the Can Xisco or Cas Moliner flour mill. Based on its valuable cultural heritage, Biniali was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Historical Complex.
