Luxury Cotswold cottage with logburner, Winchcombe

Gorgeous romantic cottage in the Cotswolds with walks on the doorstep. One small/medium dog welcome. The Old Mill House is a luxury retreat in the hamlet of Stanley Pontlarge, 2 miles from Winchcombe, 5 miles Cheltenham Racecourse, 9 miles central Cheltenham. Living room with logburner, bedroom with kingsize bed, kitchen with dishwasher, induction hob, oven. Smeg fridge/freezer. Shower room. Relax in our gorgeous enclosed paddock. Suitable for infants. Parking space. EV charging. Beautifully furnished, warm and cosy the Old Mill House was fully refurbished in September 2021. There is an EV charging point. The sitting room has the original flagstone floor which has been refurbished, stone walls and lime plaster. Radiators and a woodburning stove keep the whole place warm and cosy. There is a television to catch up on your favourite programmes, a sofa and chair, side tables and table lamps. Upstairs the super comfy king size bed has a Sleepsoul Cloud mattress for the perfect sleep. The bedroom has a small wardrobe and bedside tables. There are no street lights and the only sounds are the birds, the owls and the sheep. The shower room has a large walk in cubicle with electric shower, toilet and vanity unit. There is a wall mirror and heated radiator. We supply Neal's Yard toiletries for use during your stay. We refill them to save on plastic. The kitchen has an induction hob, oven and dishwasher. All crockery and cutlery are provided along with water and wine glasses. There is a Nespresso machine with milk frother, toaster and a retro style Smeg fridge freezer. There is also an iron and table top ironing board. There is a table for two. One small/medium dog most welcome. We just ask that you keep them off the furniture and bed, dry muddy paws and pick up after them in the grounds. We have an outdoor muddy paw washing area. We have a Bedlington terrier called Ruby who is very happy to meet new friends. Most pubs and restaurants in the area welcome dogs. Outside there is a large enclosed paddock with garden furniture perfect for a coffee or a drink. The area also includes our vegetable garden and fruit trees. The Winchcombe Way is through a gate at the bottom of the paddock. The cottage has 2 smoke alarms, a carbon monoxide alarm, a fire blanket and a first aid kit. We have fast Gigaclear broadband in the cottage. There will be a welcome pack to refresh you after your journey and it usually includes bread, milk, butter, eggs, biscuits and orange juice to get you started. There will be some treats for your dog aswell. The cottage has a supply of tea bags, a selection of coffee pods, coffee, hot chocolate, a selection of jam, sugar, salt, pepper and oil. There is a Co-Op supermarket in Winchcombe about 2 miles away. Logs - we supply a full basket of logs along with firelighters, kindling and matches to get you going. If you require more we have bags available to buy for £5 (cost price, sourced from local suppliers) A car is needed to get here and visit the area but if you want to do lots of walking you just need to step out of the cottage straight on to the Winchcombe Way. Cheltenham Racecourse is a 15 minute drive away. Prescott Hill Climb is 4 minutes. There is 1 parking space adjacent to the cottage on the gravel drive in front of our house. We live next door so are generally on hand if needed. The Saxon village of Winchcombe is just over 2 miles away and you can walk there over the hills from the cottage if you want to. It has pubs, restaurants, shops, a butcher, a vegetable shop and a fabulous bakery. We are a short drive from some beautiful Cotswold villages including Broadway, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in March to name a few. There are great pubs and restaurants, most of them dog friendly. Our local is The Royal Oak in Gretton which is just over a mile away. Great location and great food with the added bonus of the historic stream train going past if you are lucky. We have a list of recommendations if you require them. Cheltenham is about 20 minutes away and has wonderful shops and restaurants. Stanley Pontlarge is a small hamlet of six properties near the Saxon town of Winchcombe in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is set in beautiful quiet countryside with walks on the doorstep and surrounded by Cotswold villages. A car is needed to get to The Old Mill house and visit the surrounding villages. The cottage has walks on the doorstep and the slogan of the local village is 'Winchcombe welcomes walkers' There is a free parking space outside the cottage and we have EV charging for a small fee if required. Dog rules We love dogs and want to welcome well behaved ones to the cottage. However we want to ensure that it remains beautiful for all our guests. - dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture - muddy dogs need to be washed off ( cold tap paw washing facility outside) and dried. A dog towel will be provided. - no dogs to be left in the cottage or garden if guests are out. - any damage or additional laundry/cleaning will sadly have to be charged for - all dog mess to be cleared up Our paddock is great for letting dogs off the lead for a run. We want to offer luxury accommodation for dog owners and appreciate your acceptance of these rules on booking. Thank you. Children The cottage is not suitable for small mobile children due to the stairs but infants are welcome and we have a travel cot and baby monitor if required.
