Chill Getaway Near Casinos, Beaches and Chicago
When you want to be away from the world, but still near everything, this is the stay for you. Enjoy our outdoor space, or travel to a nearby beach (9 mins to Jerose Park, 20 mins to Lake Street and Marquette Park beaches). Like casinos? They're all around you (10 mins to Hard Rock, 13 to AmeriStar, 20 to Horseshoe). Or head to Downtown Chicago on the South Shore train (40 min ride). Homebodys can, stay in and snuggle up with a book, watch TV, or play some of the games we've got on hand. This is one of the homiest stays you'll find! I've got a fully stocked kitchen. If you like to cook while you're away, I've got plenty of spices, oil, flour, etc for you to do your thing. There are even cookbooks on hand if you need inspiration. There are beach chairs, an umbrella, a beach tote and beach towels on hand to make sure that you have a fabulous beach day if you decide to head to one of the local beaches. If you want to chill in the back yard, you'll enjoy a fire pit, charcoal grill, hammock, and 2 separate patios, including 2 loungers. There's seating for at least 8 in the yard. For my audiophiles, check out the selection of vinyl that I inhereted from my parents and grands. Many are scratched, but several play like champs! There's a record cleaning kit for you to use if you're going to get your vinyl groove on, as well. This home also has an unusually stocked bathroom, featuring extras like peroxide, bandaids, aspirin and ibuprofen, etc. Since I do have personal property on hand, I'll thank you in advance for not bothering things like my family photos. Odds are, white you're visiting I'll be at my partner's home (30 minutes away), or visiting my parents (at the end of the block.) Either way, I'm easily accessible for any questions or concerns. Also, I may be able to help with light transportation if you took the train in and don't have a way to go get some staples. I grew up in this neighborhood, and know most of the residents VERY well. It's a very old school neighborhood, where we speak and wave when we see each other. This home is located on a dead end street, so there's no through traffic to worry about. That being said, this is quiet neighborhood, and we'd like to keep it that way. Please respect the neighbors by honoring quiet hours between 9pm and 9am. During the day, I take my speaker in the back and vibe on the patios all of the time, but after 9pm, keep noise to a minimum, please and thank you. I'm near a ton of transportation, but this city is not very walkable. The South Shore Clark Road (Gary Airport) train stop is one block away, so getting to Downtown Chicago is a literal breeze from here. If you're driving, this home is just minutes away from exits on 90 and 94. There are usually two available parking spaces right in front of the house. I live just across tollway from Gary Airport, and my house is right in the flight path for the planes landing. It's not very loud AT ALL, except in summer during the Air and Water show. The Blue Angels and military planes are all RIGHT overhead, which is amazing for some people, and a terror for others. If you're staying during the show, just be aware that it is a VERY LOUD time to be in the neighborhood.
