the Butler's Residence, charming romantic space.

This 1880s cottage sits opposite the old stone coachhouse so we named it "the butler's residence"; and your only job is to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of our 100acre farm. This studio style space features a NEW king size 4-poster bed, wood burning combustion oven, modern bathroom, lounge area and kitchenette. The Butlers is a perfect romantic setting for your date night, we've even had 2 proposals happen here! This charming studio-cottage has been fully renovated, offering a blend of the old world with modern conveniences. We currently don't have the kitchenette finished, guests are welcome to use the large farmhouse kitchen and dining nook in the Big House, should you wish to cook a special meal and eat in. Life essentials like a nespresso machine are provided (kettle, toaster and microwave too). Milo? no, but the big house kitchen will have a tin of it, we got you. In winter the cottage is toasty warm thanks to the wood burning combustion oven, wood provided, and someone can start it if you need help, but many guests love the experience. In summer the sandstone cottage stays cool, especially with bedroom curtains drawn, but we have a fan for those rare, extra hot, 1/365, still nights. The property also has a large indoor swimming pool, and tennis court (we have racquets) that guests may use (both are a shared facility with other airbnb guests), as well as various locations on the farm you might enjoy for a stroll or picnic. We don’t have a tv in the Butlers, perhaps enjoy a digital detox by strolling down the laneways at sunset with a glass of wine.... (we do have [slow] WiFi if you need to check the ‘gram #pineyridgeestate) You'll need a car to get around the Hills. The farm property has plenty of parking, each airbnb has seperate parking areas. PETS We have pets on the farm, and the cottage isn't fenced off so the animals could wander over. Our dog is very friendly and the cats generally don't go near guests, they are pretty shy. If you are scared of animals then sadly this might not be the listing for you. We do not allow pets in the Butlers. The Farm Manager lives in the main house. We are well located in the Adelaide Hills to visit the most popular wineries (Shaw+Smith, Nepenthe, The Lane, Bird in Hand... the list goes on), just 14 minutes to Hahndorf and less than an hour to the Barossa or the McLaren Vale. You won't run out of places to visit! You can start the day with a brisk walk down one of the laneways, perhaps spotting some kangaroos or saying hello to the cows. There is limited public transport in the Hills, you'll need a car to explore. This is a working farm so we run livestock, please take care if approaching fences. We respectfully request NO SMOKING on our property, always, this will be strongly enforced during the dry summer season. An extra cleaning fee may be applied, and as non-smokers we can detect the smell from 30m away.
