Welcome to the Pie House where years ago Helen sold her pies made from locally grown fruits to locals, tourists and those traveling to Mountaineer (then Waterford Downs) Casino/Racetrack This spacious home has reliable wifi,nice sized rooms and offers a bonus room on the second floor for use as office space/card room/cafe/cocktail area. The space has its own TV, dorm sized fridge and microwave. There’s a second coffee pot and kcup pot. The kitchen and cafe will offer kcups, creamer and sugar. Spacious rental. First floor has a large kitchen, dining room, livingroom and queen log bed in the bedroom. There’s a full sized bathroom with a tub/shower. There is TV in the bedroom and living room. The second floor has a second bathroom with a shower with one king and one queen bedroom -both with TVs . The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare wonderful meals, with a drip and k cup coffee pots, spices, etc. There’s a few games and videos in the drawers and a DVD player. There is leather furniture, an awesome log bed, a large salt lamp and lots of special touches throughout. There’s plenty of towels and an extra set of sheets for each room. You’ll park on the side street in a well lit area. You will have access to laundry area with stays of five days or more. I’m always available to my guests. We don’t reside in the immediate area and always respect our guests space and privacy. If you’d like the refrigerator stocked, flowers waiting in a vase or a personal touch to help make a special occasion extra special please let me know. If your feeling lucky Mountaineer Casino is 6 miles away with two more casinos within an hours drive. There are many good restaurants. Just pick a direction your headed in and you’ll find plenty of good eateries. The casino offers the Gatsby Restaurant, Big Al’s Deli (open nightly till 3 am), and for a weekend fine dining experience make reservations at Le Bon Vie Steakhouse, which offers an extensive wine list. Be sure to spend a day enjoying Pittsburgh. Have lunch atop Mount Washington, ride the trolley through the city and be sure to visit Bicycle Heaven-a visitors voted favorite. Homer Laughlin China is nearby. Shop the gift shop and seconds store for great savings. You can arrange a tour in advance. Just across the river is the Pottery City Antique Gallery with 40,000sq ft on four floors. They are open 7 days a week. Boater enthusiasts will have several nearby locations to put in on the Ohio River. Kayakers can use the lake at the park that includes a boat rental concession. Once you’ve arrived you can walk to the grocery store, pharmacy, liquor store, ice cream/hot dog shop, local tavern which offers a simple menu including pizza. Take a stroll to one of several local parks. There is a grocery store, pharmacy, churches and liquor store in the immediate area. Even if you don’t gamble you can enjoy a nice variety of restaurants 6 miles away at the casino. *The steaks are delish at Le Bon Vie Steakhouse and reservations are suggested.
