Chatterley House Short Stays Nottingham/Derbyshire

Chatterley House is so named due to its close historical links with the famous author D.H. Lawrence, who was born just up the road. In its former life the building has been a school and a hotel, then In 2014 this extensive property was converted into a very large family home by the current owners. Two en-suite double rooms with their own separate entrance are available in this very large Rural Family Property, and the current owners have opened up part of their extensive home to guests. The property is well situated between the cities of Derby and Nottingham. There is a train station within a 5 minute walk, which takes 11 minutes direct into Nottingham City centre, with all the attractions such as the legend of Robin Hood and Nottingham Castle, plus the galleries of justice and Nottingham caves. Nottingham also has great night life, with many bars and restaurants to visit. Derby City is only a 20 minute car or taxi journey, and we are well situated for plenty of 24 hr supermarkets, bars, fast food outlets and retail outlets such as Ikea, Next,Decathlon, Costa's, Pizza Express and Pappa John's pizza, Nando's, KFC, Mcdonalds (24hr opening), and more close by.... In this semi rural location, you can enjoy walks or cycle rides down the canal, and free use of our gym and full size table tennis table to keep adults or kids occupied during your stay. The property is also on the edge of the Derbyshire countryside, with tourist towns such as Matlock and Buxton just 30-45 minutes drive away. We also have a kitchen/diner for use next to the rooms, that can be used by guests, containing microwave, kettle, fridge, washing machine, toaster and unlimited tea/coffee making facilities (Please see photo's). Although please note that there are no cooking facilities and WE DO NOT provide English cooked breakfasts, we provide items within this kitchen area for guests use, such as cereals, toast, jam, eggs, tea, orange,coffee and milk that allow guests the flexibility to do their own breakfast as and when they require. We find that this offers more flexibility to guests, especially with young children, and makes a great place to eat food or takeaways, as it can seat up to 8 guests, and has a large TV with Netflix (allowing guests to log into their own account, plus multiple tv channels. Guests have privacy with the ground floor east wing of the house having the bedrooms, dining room and gym/games room. This wing of the house has its own entrance for guests convenience and privacy. Guests have total privacy from the main house, and we are available for advice if required. Chatterley House is in a semi rural location with plenty of canal walks but very well situated with many places to eat and drink locally. Transport links are fantastic as there is a train station a 5 minute walk down the road which is 10 minutes direct into Nottingham city centre, or north to sheffield/leeds and Derbyshire. The M1 motorway junction 26 is a 5 minute drive away! The new Ilkeston train station is just a five minute walk from the house, making getting around really easy. It takes just 11 minutes on the train south into Nottingham city centre, and north goes to Sheffield and Leeds. There are bus routes outside the property, and we are 5 minutes drive from junction 26 on the M1 motorway, making getting around really easy.
