Lovely rural 1 bedroom guesthouse with woodburner
Once a shepherds' bothy . We have redesigned the original space to make it a comfortable , cosy and stylish getaway, without, we hope, taking away its' historical ambience . Kick back and relax in this calm and rural countryside. The bothy contains twin beds that can be joined together to create one large, comfortable six foot bed. The en-suite bathroom contains a walk-in shower. The private lounge contains a logburner for cosy nights with a well equipped country kitchen. Ample parking is available on site. We live next door and will be available and happy to help with any queries during your stay . We want our guests to feel welcome and at home . We are situated at the end of a long private drive one and a half miles from the historic county town of Mongomery . Offas Dyke bisects the drive putting us just into Shropshire. Wonderful walks and places to visit . Powis Castle and gardens approx 7 miles . Hay on Wye is a 46 mile drive if you want to attend the famous literary festival . Visit Ludlow and Leominster for antiques and delicious produce . In Montgomery itself you will discover small intimate shops including a bookshop, deli/cafe, fish and chips, a fascinating ironmongers , pubs Church and post office . The town is noted for its elegant houses and ancient ruined castle . Welshpool {8 miles} is a bustling market town and has the famous light railway which is a great morning or afternoons outing to Llanfair Caereinion . Own car is essential , bikes could be fun . Bike hire is available in Montgomey. Regularu bses run from Montgomery . Taxies are available.
