Lovely Family house, Sevenoaks, Kent

Large historic (grade 2 listed) family house in the middle of the picturesque village of Chipstead just outside Sevenoaks. Recently renovated, great entertaining spaces, and lots of local attractions. Our home is a unique property which is over 500 years old but renovated with all mod cons. The house is spacious, cosy and inviting, with wood burning stoves and underfloor heating, and plenty of areas to relax and entertain. The kitchen table easily seats 10 and the formal dining room can be extended for up to 14. There are also lovely outside eating areas and a huge BBQ. Guests have access to the whole house, including boot room, laundry room, and off street parking for up to 3-4 cars. This is our home so we will be away whilst you are there! We will be available by phone or email in advance for recommendations and queries, and we have local key holders/ cleaners/ handy men for any issues during your stay. Sevenoaks is a charming small town with independent shops and a bi- weekly market. It is only 23 minutes by train to central london, and we are a 5-10 minute drive from the station. (30 mins to walk or there is a bus). The house is in the middle of a pretty village, with walks down to the lake and surrounding countryside from the door, and only a short drive into town or nearby sites. Local attractions include - Hever castle - the gorgeous gardens and brilliant monthly farmers market at Penshurst Place - Leeds castle - National trust parks and gardens including the nearby deer park at Knowle park, and Churchill's family home at Chartwell - local vineyard The Mount in shoreham - Bluewater shopping centre - lots of kids farm parks, soft play etc We are in walking distance of three great pubs - the George and Dragon a few doors down has some of the best food in Sevenoaks and a pretty garden with kids playframe. The Bricklayer's Arms opposite the lake is a local haunt with good food, pub quizzes and special events, and the King's Head at Bessels Green has a large beer garden. You would best off with a car but there are decent local taxi firms and you can walk to nearby pubs and local shop/ independent butcher in Riverhead. There's a large Tesco about 20 mins walk away. The commute from london by train is very easy - trains from Sevenoaks go regularly to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Waterloo east or Charing Cross in under 30 minutes. There is parking at the station. We have young kids so there are lots of toys both inside and out, and two bedrooms are set up as kids rooms: one twin plus single pull out trundle and one with cot bed (with sides on). We also have two travel cots which can be set up in any of the three double rooms. There is a double futon in the mezzanine above the gym which can also act as additional guest sleeping area. Note that access is by ladder and there are no blinds on the skylights so best in winter (this would take occupancy to 14 or 16 also including babies in travel cots). Other kids kit available includes - high chair and booster seats - plastic crockery and cutlery - sterilser We have a gym with weights cage, free weights and mats for use at your own risk! We can also recommend local babysitters and in house catering on request. Two of the bedroooms on the top (second) floor are accessed by narrow steep stairs so children need to be supervised and not suitable for anyone with access difficulties.
