El Silencio • residencia | Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl

With award-winning architecture and a carefully curated interior design, El Silencio offers a unique and artistic space of contemplation and retreat. It is placed in a well-hidden spot at the base of one of the mountains in Amatlán, and just 1.5hrs away from México City. The space follows the intention to exalt richness in simplicity. You will experience an unusual sophistication in the language of the raw elements and imperfections. The place mirrors a communication between the outer and inner worlds. To visit Tepoztlan or to do groceries a car is needed. The residence has two parking spaces indoors, and additional free and secure parking outside. Chris (Co-host/ Spanish speaking) and Tori (Co-host/ Spanish speaking) will be taking care prior your arrival. Tori will welcome you in our space and will be looking after your stay with us. If you don’t speak Spanish we can use the Airbnb messages platform for communication. For many decades foreign visitors have found their way into Amatlán in search of an alternative space for healing, visiting and leaving. It is a quiet and little traditional Mexican village, quite famous among Mexico City citizens as an exclusive and seclusive scape-away from the city. There are beautiful trekkings into the mountains. With a day notice we can organise for you a guide. Take with you the basics for a 4 hours walk (cap, water, (Website hidden by Airbnb) visit the next village Tepoztlán and to do groceries car is need. At El Silencio we provide the space for you to find your own flow. Is a perfect environment to find inspiration, for writing, meditating, journaling, introspection, reconnection, yoga, etc.
