Churchy Cottage is a seventeenth century Grade II listed thatched cottage with a colourful history. You will find yourself stepping back in time to a world of exposed beams, crooked floorboards and rustic charm. We are ideally situated for exploring Dartmoor and the beautiful rugged coastline of North Devon. Churchy Cottage is not just any holiday cottage - first and foremost it is our home. You will find it to be brimming with books, artwork and trinkets that we have collected over time. On the ground floor, we have a characterful and cosy lounge with two comfortable sofas, large inglenook fireplace with its' original bread oven and smart TV, a fully equipped hand-made kitchen with double range cooker, an atmospheric dining nook and handy utility space. Whilst on the first and second floors you will find a master bedroom with views over the Town Square, a spacious family bathroom and further double bed in the quirky mezzanine attic room with exposed A frame timbers. From the first floor landing, there is access to a roof terrace with steps down to the sunny, fully enclosed courtyard garden. The garden at Chruchy Cottage is a superb feature, being in excess of 40 feet in length, there is ample room for alfresco dining and at the very end is a summerhouse, offering more seating and another place to relax and unwind. If you're lucky enough to visit during the annual Hatherleigh Festival, you will have a front row seat on all the action, with the cottage being located in the heart of the Town Square. Free roadside parking to the front, Hatherleigh town car park is also situated within a 2-minute walk. We will always be available by phone or email. We live a very short distance from the cottage and will be on hand to help with any queries. You'll be a stone's throw from two lovely pubs, independent shops and miles of public footpaths. Great location for walkers or cyclists. The nearest beach is approx 25 minutes by car. Dogs are welcome (we are dog lovers ourselves), but please do not leave them unattended in the house and please try to keep paws downstairs.
