Our five bedroom home has been completely renovated in a contemporary, coastal style, reflecting our proximity to the coast. Decorated in cool greys, whites & blues, the house feels bright, spacious and calming. Situated in a elevated position, Vine House enjoys far reaching views across the treetops of Hollacombe woods, to Dartmoor, Plymouth & beyond. Vine House in on a quiet lane called Hollacombe Brake where there is space to park 3 cars either on our drive or in a layby on the lane itself. We will be able to answer any questions you may have on Wembury village & the surrounding area, including local walks, places to eat & visit, taxis etc. Vine House is located in beautiful Wembury, a coastal village in the South Hams, South Devon. We are lucky enough to have Wembury beach and the River Yealm on our doorstep. Wembury Beach is fantastic for rock pooling and has a charming beach café. We have completely renovated the property, putting a lot of love and effort transforming it from a 1970's bungalow to a large modern 5 bedroom home. The house backs onto Hollacombe Woods (maintained by the Woodland Trust) leading onto Wembury Woods (National Trust.) This gorgeous woodland walk winds through the trees and a sea of bluebells (in Spring time) to 'Viewpoint', a stunning clearing where you can take in a view of the estuary & have a well earned rest on the conveniently positioned bench there! From here you can carry on your walk to Wembury village. From Vine House you can also easily take a quicker route to Wembury village - a 10 minute stroll down Traine Road which will take you straight to the village centre & pub, The Odd Wheel. You can walk to Wembury beach across the fields which will take you 20 minutes. Vine House is an excellent base for those wishing to explore the South Hams and its many fantastic beaches and towns such as Modbury, Salcombe, Kingsbridge & Dartmouth. We are well positioned for those interested in walking the SW Coast Path and also Dartmoor - approximately 30 minutes away by car. In addition, we are ideally located for guests attending weddings/functions at both Langdon Court & New Barton Barns, Wembury. There is a public bus stop on the main road in Hollacombe, one minute walk from Vine House, which has links to the city of Plymouth, approximately 6 miles away . Plymouth has good rail and bus links to all other parts of the UK. There is also a local taxi firm called Wembury Cars which covers Plymouth and surrounding areas. We are letting our family home for four weeks from Sat 30th July - Sat 27th August 2022. We are only able to accept Sat - Sat bookings of 7 or 14 nights. Upstairs - 1 x Kingsize bedroom & ensuite bathroom and 1 x smaller bedroom with double sofa bed. Downstairs - 1 x Kingsize bedroom & ensuite, 1 x bedroom with single bed and 1 x bedroom with toddler / child bed. 1 x Family bathroom. Please note there are steps down to the lawned garden from the patio area. There is also a raised child’s play house in the garden which has a ladder + slide and sandpit beneath. Hollacombe Brake is close to a farm so you may hear the odd moo or neigh from neighbouring farm animals! (We love it!)
