Hilty Inn Bed and Breakfast - Alice Room

Alice’s Room, named for my Grandmother, Alice, has her pictures, old postage stamp quilt and 1916 Queen Ann-leg dresser. There is a Queen-size bed, with a bathroom and an antique claw-foot bathtub-shower. The room has access to the porch. A full or continental breakfast is available for extra charge. Located on the square in downtown Versailles, the Inn is within walking distance to many restaurants and unique gift shops. Lake of the Ozarks recreation area is just minutes. There is also a large Mennonite community in the nearby countryside that offers a variety of farm and bulk store markets. The Hilty Inn is a historical 2 story home built in 1877 by John & Margaret Lumpee. This Victorian style home features porches with gingerbread detail on the front and a two story screened in veranda on the back side of the house. This charming setting sets the stage for an overnight, weekend getaway, business trip, or an unforgettable wedding celebration. Entering the front door is a beautiful walnut newel post with open staircase. There is a parlor and dining room on either side of the entry that is common areas for guests. The floors are mostly original wide pine. The second floor offers four guest rooms with private baths. There is one common sitting room upstairs that can be made into a suite with either queen room and has a pull out. Coffee and hot water for tea is available in the kitchen. A full or continental breakfast is available for extra charge. Private dinners for 6 + with advance notice can be arranged. Whole house rental is also available.
