Riverside House

Enjoy a farmhouse feeling in the heart of our Colorado river town. Our sweet property is just half of a block from the beautiful Dolores River. You can walk the river trail and find several spots to swim in the refreshing clear water. We are right in the heart of town with all the amenities that you need within walking distance. In early spring and late fall there is a cattle drive that comes right through town and past the house. There is no more quaint and convenient spot in town! The Riverside House has 4 bedrooms on 2 floors including a suite with its own entrance and bathroom (downstairs) and 3 bedrooms upstairs that share a bathroom. With a fully appointed kitchen (2 sinks, dishwasher, oven/stove, microwave, etc) and laundry room, make The Riverside House your "basecamp" for enjoying all that the Four Corners has to offer. With a large, fenced (in case you want to bring pets) backyard and two stone patios adjoining a wrap around front porch, there is plenty of outdoor space to socialize and enjoy the fresh air. The property is less than 150 feet from the river-walk which will afford you endless river access and hundreds of miles of hiking/biking trails around McPhee lake and surrounding mountains. Bob and Kathy can usually be found developing a permaculture demonstration site on their 120 acre ranch that adjoins Canyon of The Ancients National Monument. As the ranch is less than 16 miles from the Riverside House Kathy is readily available should you need her. Bob is a Registered Nurse on the Navajo Nation and as such is in town on an every other week basis. If you value being able to walk or ride your bike to everything you need for a great visit, then this is the only place to stay in town. The social heart of Dolores beats in an area defined by the Dolores River Brewery, The Dolores Food Market and Joe Rowell Park. Your front door is this close to whats happening in town: Start of the River Walk ... 50 yards Dolores Food Market ... 130 yards Dolores River Brewery ...2 blocks Joe Rowell Park via the River Walk ...340 yards Dolores Chamber of Commerce ...200 yards Dolores Town Hall ...160 yards You could do pretty well on foot but bikes and cross country skis are available for rent and, for four wheeling enthusiasts, a variety of all terrain vehicles from four wheelers to Jeep Rubicons available to rent just a block away at The Outfitters Store. Don't forget they have all the boating toys too including fishing and hunting gear. We have done a complete remodel of the house that was completed in June of 2018. We think you will really appreciate many of the improvements we have incorporated.
