Mountain Grace at La Pieve

Mountain Grace is nestled within the small medieval village of Pieve di Controne. High over the Val di Lima, its stone walls and classic décor will transport you to a time of practical elegance. 7 guests sleep comfortably in 3 bedrooms, with a king size bed in the master bedroom, 3 singles in one large, spacious room and a bunk bed with two singles in the kids’ quarters. The living room and dining areas are adjacent in a semi-open plan, making for great flow between meal time and unwinding in front of the fireplace. The rustic eat-in kitchen is quite roomy and easy to work in. It’s stocked with all necessary pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils. There’s a large shower in the Tuscan style bathroom. The garden space is perfect for outdoor dining and enjoying the fresh mountain air. Light up the bbq for an Italian grigliata night! There’s a small, yet well stocked, grocery shop just 5 minutes away in nearby San Gemignano. For traditional Tuscan cuisine, Bar Borghesi has a wonderful lunch menu that changes daily, and Circolo dei Forestieri offers both lunch and dinner options. Both are located in the main town of Bagni di Lucca (about 15 minutes from Pieve di Controne). And if you’re looking for adventure, there’s paddle boarding, zip lining and rock climbing at Canyon Park, just a 20 minute drive down the mountain. The city of Lucca is about 45 minutes away by car. You’ll have a 1 hour and 10 minute drive to Pisa and about an hour and 45 minute drive to Florence.
