Set in the New Forest National Park, Bowerswood is a large 5-6 bedroom house accommodating 10-12 people, with a garden extending to 0.6 acres. The New Forest National Park provides great opportunities for walking, cycling and horse-riding. The medieval city of Salisbury is 15-minutes away and Stonehenge 30-minutes. The sandy beaches at Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are just 35-40 minutes away. There is an above-ground swimming pool in the garden, plus games room and garden cabin. Bowerswood makes an ideal holiday let for two or three families wishing to holiday together, or extended families, or single families who just want lots of space. The detached house has a sitting room with three 3-seater sofas, TV/DVD, wood-burning stove and bay window overlooking the garden. There is a large open-plan kitchen/dining room with new Wren kitchen featuring quartz worktops, an island, range oven and American-style fridge-freezer, plus a 10-seat dining table and a sofa. There is a separate playroom with TV and Nintendo Switch. There are two double bedrooms both with en-suite bathroom, two twin bedrooms and a bunk-bed room. The playroom can double up as a 6th bedroom, thanks to the double sofa bed. Two travel cots and high chairs are available. There is also a family bathroom with bath and separate shower, a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a boot room. There is large landing upstairs with children's toys, games and books. The garden is a particular feature of Bowerswood, giving loads of space for football, cricket, badminton and other games. There is an above-ground swimming pool which the kids will love and four sun loungers. There is a large patio with sofas, a 10-seat table under a vine-covered pergola which provides lovely dappled shade on hot sunny days, a 7-burner gas BBQ and a pond with fountain, waterfall and fish. There is also a children's play area with swings, slide and trampoline. There is a substantial garden cabin housing a slate-bedded snooker/pool table, and sofa plus chairs. If it's wet (or even if it isn't) there's an enormous double garage with table tennis, table football, darts, sofas and gym equipment. With so much space and things to do, we think you will love staying at Bowerswood, and we hope you will want to come back again and again. A car is recommended for getting around to visit places and for food shopping. There is plenty of space on the drive for several cars. We are available by text, email or phone, and in-person if needed, but otherwise we leave you to enjoy Bowerswood in privacy. Bowerswood is located in one of the loveliest parts of the UK, with so much to see and do. The New Forest is one of the largest remaining tracts of unenclosed pasture land, heathland and forest in Southern England, where ponies, cows, sheep, deer and even pigs and goats roam freely, including in villages and all over the roads. There are miles and miles of walks, off-road cycling and horse-riding, plus canoeing/kayaking and other outdoor pursuits. And countless country-side pubs and cafes. The medieval city of Salisbury, just 15 minutes away by car, has its spectacular cathedral built in the 13th century with the country's tallest spire, largest cloisters and biggest cathedral close. It also houses one of 4 remaining copies of the Magna Carta, one of the world's oldest working clocks and the grave of former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath. The Market Square, High Street, Fish Row and other streets have delightful cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, museums and theatres. The Charter Market is held every Tuesday and Saturday in the Market Square. Stonehenge - the legendary prehistoric stone circle - is a 30-minute drive away and there are other ancient sites near Salisbury at Old Sarum, Figbury Ring and Danebury Iron Age Hill fort. The south coast is just 35-40 minutes away with glorious sandy beaches at Bournemouth, Poole and Mudeford (near Christchurch). All have dog-permitted beaches, cafes, shops and fabulous views out towards the Isle of Wight and the "Isle" of Purbeck. Within a short drive you'll find the beautiful village of Downton with its greens, water meadows and thatched cottages, the lovely New Forest towns of Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst, the New Forest water park with aqua park and wake-boarding, Moors Valley Country Park with Go Ape, adventure playgrounds, bike hire and steam railway, Paulton's Park family theme park Marwell zoo, Longdown Activity Farm, the Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre, Longleat Safari Park, Beaulieu motor museum, the ancient ship-building village of Bucklers Hard, Hengistbury Head and Bournemouth Oceanarium to name just a few. The King's Head pub with excellent food and beers is one minute's walk down the hill, while the Sherekhan Indian restaurant and takeaway as well as a Chinese takeaway and kebab shop are 3 minutes up the hill. There is a children's playground and tennis court 2 minutes' drive away, while the nearby village of Downton has two supermarkets, a butchers, fish and chip shop, the brilliant Borough cafe and a leisure centre with sports hall, pay-as-you-go gym and two indoor tennis courts. There is a pay-and-play golf course at nearby Hamptworth with a 666-yard par 6 hole appropriately named "the Beast", plus a driving range and crazy golf course. A car is the best way to get around, but there's lots within cycling distance, while the no 44 bus passes the house and the X33 between Salisbury, Fordingbridge, Ringwood and Bournemouth can be boarded at nearby Downton.
