The Lake House - Lotus Flower Room.

In the heart of the village, right next to the lake, our little house is ideal for watching the world go by from your hammock. The bedroom has new AC unit, a large bathroom with hot water, and there is also a kitchen, living room and large verandah in the house. We have our own jeep for trips to see wild elephants, and can organise any of your travel needs. The house has lake views; behind the house, climb up the rock for the best sunsets over the lake. Breakfast included -served from 8.am. The house has a large living room, a large bedroom and a spacious kitchen with super cool fridge (pre-stocked with drinks/beers on request). There is also a cooker with gas hob and pans, crockery and cutlery at your disposal. There is a large, clean bathroom with hot water shower that is shared with a maximum of one other room. The house is in the village area and next to a hotel, where if you ask nicely, they'll let you use the pool! Straight from the house, you can take a walk around the lake to see lots of beautiful birds on the lake and in the trees around. Monkeys and land monitors are frequently spotted, as well as lizards, chameleons and turtles. We are also perfectly situated to make the most of all of the local attractions, including many UNESCO heritage sites: - Sigiriya Rock Fortress (20mins) - Ancient city of Polonnaruwa (45 mins) - Ancient city of Anuradhapura (1 hour) - Ritigala Archeological site (15 mins) - Nilaveli beach on the beautiful, sandy east coast (1.5 hours) We are about 7 mins walk from the town centre. Our house manager can organise any meals you might like. Western or Sri Lankan breakfast is available for a small price. We can organise home-cooked traditional lunch and or dinner (prices on request). We can even organise a barbecue on the verandah!
