Restful Room in Our Suburban Bungalow
Enjoy a few weeks or more staying in our convenient but relaxing little suburban oasis. We are a convenient 15 minute drive into center city Philadelphia (or an easy PATCO train ride) and even closer to major area hospitals like Cooper, Virtua, and Inspira. We offer the second bedroom in our humble bungalow, where we have a large peaceful and shaded yard with patio and hammock, two friendly indoor cats, and a few backyard chickens. Perfect to escape the bustle of work while you are here! We treat our guests much like roommates. We fully respect your privacy while you are here and do not intrude on the privacy of your room. We ask you to do the same for our private room. The guest room is bright, though we have hung blackout curtains for daytime sleeping. The double bed is memory foam, and there is an overhead variable speed fan with a remote. The room also has a large sliding door mirror on the closet, which has plenty of hanging room and shelves. The room has a 32” Roku TV, with subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video. If you have subscriptions of your own, most can be accessed on the TV. The room also has plenty of outlets for laptops, tablets, etc. Beyond that, you are free to utilize the other shared spaces in the house, including the dining room, living room, kitchen, and outdoor living areas. We have cable in the living room (with probably too many channels) and two hi-speed WiFi networks, which guests can use. You are welcome to use all of the appliances in the kitchen, including the coffee maker. We do ask that you purchase and keep your own food items, and we have reserved designated fridge and pantry space for you to store it. You likewise have full access to use of the laundry in the basement. Guest room Shared bathroom Living room Dining room Kitchen Laundry in basement Front porch Backyard patio We ask that guests not go into our private bedroom or the garage. Ryan and I are available anytime by text or phone call if we are not home. We both work day jobs (Ryan works for Amtrak, and I am a state employee). So we are typically getting ready for work between 6:00 and 8:30 and then getting home from work around 3:30 or later. We usually spend our weeknight evenings making dinner and relaxing at home. We have plenty of parking—either on the street or in our large driveway. We do have an outdoor camera that looks over the driveway, which is a security benefit to parking in the driveway if you wish. We do live near a train that comes by here and there. The line services only one business, so it comes by a few times a week, is a short train and travels at low speeds. It doesn’t really bother us, but guests who are not used to it may notice it if they happen to be home when it comes by. ———— We do have two indoor cats that have free range of the house. Our black cat, Alice, is quite shy and won’t bother you. Our younger kitten, Brigantine, is extremely friendly and will want to be your best friend! We also have hens that reside in our backyard. They pay their rent in fresh eggs, which you are welcome to while you are here! To ensure the safety of our resident animals, WE DO NOT ALLOW GUESTS TO BRING PETS OF THEIR OWN.
