Enjoy vacation living year-round in coveted Bell Island. Adorable, furnished 4/5 bedroom Victorian cottage with breathtaking water views from every room. Watch the sunrise over Sheffield Island on the patio then entertain friends at sunset on your deck overlooking Crescent Beach. Open concept living/dining room area, updated kitchen, & dedicated office or gym space. Sleeps 10-12. Steps from two private beaches, quick walk to the charming village of Rowayton, and an easy 1 hour train ride to NYC. Rowayton is a picturesque New England seaside village that was voted one of Coastal Living Magazine's "Best Places to Live." There's a vibrant and active community of 4000 people within a 1.6-mile radius, small enough that Rowaytonites love to walk and bike around town. It's friendly, relaxed, safe, family-oriented and fun, with an active civic association, historical society, arts center and gardening club plus many events such as free outdoor summer music concerts and Shakespeare on the Sound. Bell Island is a charming private association of 110 homes within Rowayton, accessed by a small bridge on one end and short stretch of beach road on the other end. Bell Island is surrounded by Long Island Sound on three sides and by Farm Creek Preserve on the other side, a tidal inlet teeming with wildlife such as blue herons, egrets and ospreys. Nantucket-style homes are in close proximity to each other which promotes a very neighborly and social lifestyle. Walk to "downtown" Rowayton in 15 minutes where you can enjoy pizza and Italian fare at Rowayton Pizza or sandwiches and ice cream at Brendan's 101, both local favorites. Or for a fancier meal, try Sails or The Restaurant. Our house is also a 5-minute walk to the local dog park and town library and community center. Just a few miles away by car or Uber there are many attractions - The Maritime Aquarium, Stepping Stones Children's Museum, the Bruce Museum, shopping at The SONO Collection or Greenwich Avenue, nature centers and hiking trails, and so much more. New York City, only 40 miles away, can be reached within an hour by train or car. Metro-North has a train station in Rowayton with trains that run every half-hour to an hour to the Big Apple.
