L'Atelier: Art, Garden and Sea

L'Atelier is located in the centre of Scarlino, a medieval village on the hills overlooking the coast of Tuscany's Maremma, an area rich in history and Etruscan sites, natural and artistic beauties. The apartment is in an artist's house-studio and is furnished with works of art. A sea view garden with plants and sculptures is shared with guests, where each one has his own space.. Few steps from the house there are free parkings. The beaches are 10 minutes drive. L'Atelier (56 sqm) is a flat with a separate entrance from the way that leads you to the castle. There are: a sea and garden view large bedroom, a smaller bedroom, bathroom, living room with kitchen and balcony. It is located in the house where the owners live, the artist Mauro Corbani and his wife Laura, psychologist, and it is decorated with original works of art. You can visit the studio, even while the artist is working. For a fee you can participate in a course of etching. The apartment can also accommodate 2 bicycles in the hall and a motorbike can be parked in the garden. There are 2 comfortable sofa-beds in each bedrooms for sigle or double beds (in this case we add 1 double matress for greater confort) and a third one can be placed in the larger bedroom. If you are only 2, the smaller bedroom will become a nice sitting room. If you need, we also have a Chicco bed for babies. There is an unique atmosphere due to the presence of works of art, garden of plants and sculptures and the beautiful sea view. We rent all year . As an alternative to the high Summer season, Spring and Autumn are colorful and peaceful, the Winter is mild and offers breathtaking sunsets. In the village you will find grocery stores, bars and restaurants, bank and post office, Red Cross, newspapers and museums. We suggest the use of your own vehicle for getting around and visiting the surroundings. In general we do not accept animals but we can talk about it if you have small and well-behaved dogs that you will never have to leave alone. It is absolutely forbidden to smoke inside the apartment. The artist is glad to give you every information (also some printed materials are available) about what to visit around: villages, beaches, archaeological sites and museums, natural parks, farms. On request I can take you by car to visit special (Website hidden by Airbnb) an artist I can entertain guests with short courses of a few days for learning the techniques of intaglio printing in my studio in front of the garden. The garden is accessed from outside the apartment by going down a few steps. The garden is exclusive property of our house and is shared with guests of our 2 apartments. Each one has a own reserved space with table and benches where is possible to eat and sun beds for relaxation.
