LEMESHIN SUITE - APPLEBY CASTLE
Located on the ground floor the Lemeshin suite comprises of two rooms - one with a super king brass bed and the other with a leather sofa bed. Ideally situated at the top of the town, just 250 yards walk to the town centre. Enjoy and evening meal and sit an relax in the historic Great Hall. The Lemeshin room is one of the oldest in the castle. Named after Ranulph Lemeshin who was responsible for building the Keep and Appleby Town around 1100, this suite is located on the ground floor in the oldest part of the castle. The suite features two rooms with a bathroom and landing area in between. Bedroom one features a super-king brass bed and bedroom two a super king brass bed. Both rooms have good views of the outer bailey. This is the suite is the only bedroom in the castle on the ground floor. Common areas include the bar, great hall, old chapel of lounge, dining room, games room old great hall and inner bailey. Our reception is manned from 8am until 10.30am and from 3pm until 10.00pm. There is always someone at the property in case of emergency or urgent assistance. Appleby Castle sits on the hill overlooking the ancient county town of Westmorland. Set at the foot of the Pennines nestled next to the meandering River there are 25 acres of parkland with many animals and nativer red squirrels in the grounds. Appleby Castle cherishes one of the few remaining intact Norman Keeps in the UK. It is a museum detailing the early Norman history intertwined with the history of the castle, with a time line displays and many interesting characters to meet.
