The Lodge on Bassenthwaite Lake
Our cosy, homely family owned lodge is located within Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges which is a small, friendly holiday park set in an idyllic location on the shores of the superb Bassenthwaite Lake in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Whether you wish to spend your time conquering the fells, exploring the exciting attractions of the National Park, or simply sitting, relaxing and losing yourself in one of the most picturesque locations in England, our Lodge is the ideal place to stay. The lodge has an open plan lounge, dining area and fully fitted kitchen with access through double patio doors to a newly refurbished terrace with Weber Gas BBQ. We have enjoyed many happy times watching the sun go down over the lake and bathing in the nature of this peaceful and unique part of The Lake District National Park. There are two bedrooms which have two single beds in each and a shared bathroom opposite with shower and bath. There is also a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The Lodge has just had new carpets and floors fitted throughout, along with the decking replaced and the exterior painted - she looks a gem and you will be very comfortable here. There is enough space for two cars to the side of The Lodge. You have access to all areas of The Lodge. The Lodge is a family run home and we live in Leicester. We have been hosting two room on airbnb in our Leicester home for six years. You can check out our reviews - we love hosting! The lodge is located within Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges Park, Scarness - which is about one mile from Basesenthwaite village. The park is at the end of a lane and is very quiet and secluded. There are wide ranging views over beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake and the surrounding Northern Fells. Keswick is 5 miles away and Cockermounth is 7 miles. You can walk to the summit of Skiddaw from the property and there are numerous walks including a lakeside path direct from the park. Dodd wood which is walkable from the lodge is home to the Osprey viewpoint and four superb way marked trails. The Sun Inn which is located in Bassenthwaite Village is good for local food and ales as is the famous Pheasant Inn which is a short drive away. Keswick - 5 miles Cockermouth - 7 miles
