Eco Barn - Ty'n Llwyn Cornel - Snowdonia Retreat
A unique build using natural resources to promote beautiful design with an ecologically friendly approach. Set with views of the mountains, only 15 minutes from the coast and nestled into a historical former island, this is a perfect launchpad for a variety of activities or snuggling in front of a warm fire. Large open plan living space with 'outdoor indoors' design carrying the surrounding rocks, wood and slate inside the building in a uniquely beautiful fashion. Master bedroom with king size bed on ground floor opposite bathroom with wet room shower and stand alone bathtub. Mezzanine bedroom with twin beds situated above the bespoke wooden kitchen. Private parking to the front of the property. In addition to the guides and maps at the cottage, I am a qualified Mountain Leader and am more than happy to offer advice on rambling and walking activities for all abilities. If I am not around I will be sure to give you a call within your first 24 hours to say hello and check that you have settled in happily. Don't hesitate to call me to ask anything at all - I enjoy a good chat! A short walk from the cottage takes you to the Glaslyn Osprey Centre where you can watch these rare birds in their natural surroundings. The newly opened village café and shop in Llanfrothen provides delicious breakfasts, along with various educational classes for all, including art and Welsh language lessons! Just a mile away is the popular pub, Brondanw Arms (known locally as The Ring). The local village here is also famous for Plas Brondanw and Kyffin Williams. As if this wasn't enough, the cottage is just a short drive from the coast and many of the area's best visitor attractions - including the Welsh Highland Railway which is only 200m away. During the day it can be heard chugging past like from another era. Our favourite tip - head down to Black Rock Sands beach where you can drive right up to the waters edge and dance around in the sea as the sun sets into the distance across the water. This property has been built from stone reclaimed from the surrounding land; wood from trees that have fallen naturally; hemp and sheeps wool used as insulation; an 'earthen' floor; air source heat pump. A unique endeavour to showcase the potential beauty of an 'eco home'.
