Private Retreat in the Woods! Hiking, Bonfire!

Enjoy a safe, secluded get away at our private retreat in the woods! Relax by the salt water pool, enjoy s'mores by a bonfire; gaze at the stars while relaxing in the hot tub. Find yourself nestled in the forest with hiking trails, a waterfall, goats to pet, and crisp, fresh country air.     Come escape for a getaway nestled in the woods! Soak in the sun and gaze at the stars in your own private oasis. Enjoy our three goats, and feel free to pet them! We can host up to 10 - 12 people overnight; and a few more for a daytime event. The seasonal color changing salt water pool is open from May 15th through September 15th, with the attached hot tub open April 15th through October 15th. Please read through everything; most of your questions will be answered here. Pricing is shown for up to 6 people.  Pricing increases based on the number of guests.  The charge for additional guests is $50 each per night. Airbnb adds on taxes and fees, so our prices don’t reflect your total charge. A  two night minimum is required for weekend bookings from May 1st to October 1st. Single night bookings are available on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays year round. Guests stay together in the third floor suite with an open floor plan and aerobeds; which can sleep up to 10-12 people.  There is one additional bedroom available on the first floor with a full sized bed that can sleep 2 people.   Cleaning fees cover a small portion of our costs for hiring a cleaning crew to clean and disinfect the entire house,  set up and take down the beds,  launder all the bedding and towels, costs for pool cleaning and chemicals, toiletries, paper products,  supplies, utilities, etc.  The cleaning fees are higher now as extensive disinfecting is required due to the coronavirus. Guests are expected to pick up after themselves; including dishes and trash.  Disposable masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be available for your use free of charge. Please leave everything just as you found it. We live on the property and are generally available for help with anything you need. Otherwise you shouldn't see us, as we stay in a separate apartment when hosting guests. You will have full privacy and exclusive use of the main house. Feel free to reach out with any questions; sometimes we can be flexible on certain things when possible. We want you to have fun! We can accomodate up to 10 - 12 overnight guests. We provide aerobeds and all bedding. The kitchen is fully stocked and supplied. Toiletries are provided as well. Here is a detailed description of the property: 3rd Floor Suite (primary sleeping arrangements/space): The suite has two queen beds, and sleeps up to 10-12 people with aerobeds. It's like a big slumber party! 1st floor guestroom: Can sleep two people in a full sized bed. (It is a children's room complete with toys that our grandchildren use when they visit). AMENITIES IN THE 3rd floor suite: -32 inch flat screen TV, Blu ray player, movie collection -Kitchen area en suite with microwave, mini fridge, Keurig, water cooler, and toaster oven. -Dining table with 2 chairs -Desk/business area with stationary and office supplies, magazines, books, printer -WiFi -Board games - Menus for nearby restaurants OUTSIDE: -In ground fenced salt water pool; open May - September. -Salt water hot tub; open April - October -Outdoor Shower that is to die for! Showering outside at night under the stars is amazing. -Stereo system that can connect to bluetooth -Beautiful hiking trails with waterfall, pond, geocaches, letter boxes, old gypsy camp -Fire pit / bonfire, s'mores roasting skewers (firewood is provided free of charge as well as a s'mores welcome basket!) -Grill, smoker (gas is provided free of charge) -Multi level decks with seating and sunset lake views -Goats! They won't be in your way at all but if you would like to interact with them please feel free to go right into their area! Pool house: -Full sized refrigerator/freezer for your exclusive use -Private changing area, futon, rocking chairs on porch -Stereo with Bluetooth -Sunscreen, bug spray, lotion -Pool towels Pool area: -Zero gravity chairs, chaise lounges, umbrellas, tables -Outdoor hammock bed -Outdoor couch/seating set -Hammock Yard: -Outdoor games including croquet, badminton, horseshoes, cornhole beanbag toss, yard darts available upon request -Folding tables and chairs available upon request -Snowshoes and poles -Fishing poles -Bikes -Hiking trails that lead to a little waterfall, beautiful scenic walks INSIDE: -Exclusive use of kitchen, living room, dining room, downstairs bathroom. Brand new couch set in living room. -Full kitchen with brand new appliances and every accessory imaginable. Equipped with Kitchen Aid Mixer, 2 crock pots, air fryer, instapot, panini grill, ice cream maker, fondue dish, chafing dish, Ninja blender, Cusinart food processor, Champion juicer, serving dishes, and more. Large dining table seats 8. Breakfast bar seats two. -Living room with 75 inch flatscreen TV, surround sound, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Disney Plus, ESPN plus -Fireplace -Mutliple aerobeds to accomodate guests. Up to 10 - 12 overnight guests can be accommodated with aerobeds. -Half bathroom on the main floor as well as one private bedroom -Private full bath on the second floor -Third floor, entire floor with open floor plan *We have everything here that you need; all cooking utensils, grill utensils, spices, condiments, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, plastic wrap, foil, trash bags, etc. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, and everything else you might need. If you have any questions, please ask! We want to help you create a wonderful experience! Our home is secluded on 25 wooded acres; set 1/2 mile off the road. You cannot see any other houses from here. The neighborhood is very safe to walk in. We have beautiful hiking trails with small waterfalls right off our property. Ticks are out; so we request that you use bug spray if you go into the woods at all. We have it for you. There is no public transportation here, but you can get a cab or an Uber. Renting a car is the best bet as it is very rural here. There is very limited food delivery, so plan accordingly. We have lots of menus and can make suggestions. If you would like to order food for delivery, please check GrubHub or DoorDash as restaurants that deliver are limited and often change. DISTANCES: UConn - 20 - 25 minutes Willimantic/Windham, CT - 25 minutes Sturbridge, MA - 15 - 20 minutes Brimfield, MA - 25 minutes Hartford, CT - 30 minutes Manchester, CT - 20 minutes Worcester, MA - 40 minutes Providence, RI - 1 hour Boston, MA - 1 hour and 15 minutes New Haven, CT - 1 hour and 15 minutes New York City - 2 1/2 hours We want you to have a great time, and be able to enjoy yourselves safely; however there are a few things you should know before coming: ~We live in the woods. There will be bugs. We provide bug spray. ~There are a lot of stairs. The main guest suite is on the third floor. There are also lots of stairs down to the pool. Think of it as great exercise! If you have physical limitations; let us know. There is one bedroom on the first floor. ~There is no bathroom in the pool area; you have to walk back up to the house. We are building one for next year! ~There is no bathroom on the 3rd floor where the main suite is; however it is just below at the bottom of the stairs. ~Our driveway is 1/2 mile long and looks like a dirt road. You aren't lost! We have signs to help guide you; and your confirmation sheet has detailed directions. Don't forget to bear left at the fork! ~We are fully vaccinated, and stay in a separate apartment on the second floor of the house when we have guests, along with our small dog Archer. You will have the entire main house to yourselves; including all of the first floor and third floor, and a private bathroom on the second floor. No one else will be using the pool, decks, yard, kitchen, your bathrooms, etc. There are no shared spaces other than the laundry room if you would like to use it. We have a separate entrance to the house. Please just ask if you have any questions around this! ~Though we are in a separate space, you will be able to hear us at times. Please inform us if our TV is too loud or we are making too much noise in any way! We try to be as quiet as possible but our apartment is not sound proofed. :) ~Under certain circumstances, we can leave the premises and stay elsewhere during your stay giving you complete seclusion on the 25 acre estate. We cannot do this for any type of gathering or larger group; but are willing to vacate the premises for smaller families who prefer that. Please just ask us about this if it is something you prefer.
