Private Chautauqua 100 ft Lakefront Cottage

Enjoy a relaxing vacation on Chautauqua Lake in our cozy, traditional lakefront cottage located in Mayville, NY. The cottage has two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with a queen bed), it also boasts a queen pull out and a single pull out, and one bathroom. Additionally, a twin-sized roll-away bed is in the master closet if needed. The bathroom has been completely remodeled. There is access to 100 feet of lakefront including a private boat launch (for canoes, kayaks, etc.), a private point, and is bounded on one side by a canal. Two private docks are available in this canal. The Mayville end of the lake is the nicest section of the lake for swimming. It’s shallow and sandy and is a popular spot for many boats on weekends for anchoring and hanging out all day. Fishing is also fantastic (although it’s great on most of the lake). The property includes a small point with a bench for a relaxing spot to read or just watch the action on the lake. Bald eagles are seen almost daily soaring over the water and often perch on a dead limb located in a tree about 100 yards to the west. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a brand new oven. Towels and linens are provided. Toiletries, dishwashing soap, hand soap, and shampoo are not provided. Other amenities include a grill, fire pit, patio with picnic tables and chairs. Local attractions or points of interest include: • Chautauqua Institution - a gated Victorian lakeside community is only a 10-minute drive away where concerts, lectures, drama, opera, ballet, and a variety of classes abound. • Chautauqua Belle Steamboat • The quaint village of Bemus Point is also only a 10-minute drive…fine dining, unique shops, floating stage entertainment, and festive nightlife. • Historic Midway Park is the 15th oldest, continually operating amusement park in the nation and is close by. • Discover local culture by visiting the National Comedy Center, Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, Audubon Community Nature Center, Fenton History Center, and The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Jamestown...Home of 'Lucy'. • Local breweries: Southern Tier Brewing Company, Big Inlet Brewing, Ellicottville Brewing Company (EBC) • Hiking - Mount Pleasant State Forest • Golf courses Guests have use of the entire house. The garage is not included. I can be reached by phone and email. My brother-in-law will also be available if something unexpected comes up. The town of Mayville is very quaint and includes a nice sized grocery store for all needs, a hardware store and a Dollar General Store a 2-minute drive from the center of town. The cottage is located at the end of a gravel lane (last cottage on right). Parking is available in front of the garage. About a 1/2 mile west is a biking/walking lane that you can take to restaurants and the Mayville floating stage. The closest Laundromat is only 10 minutes away.
