Just 90 minutes away from Los Angeles, your peaceful retreat is waiting up in the mountains in Forest Falls. Hike, bike or just cozy up with a book and escape the city for a while. Have you ever wanted to stand underneath a waterfall? The falls are a short walk from the Lodge. Built in 2014, it's a rustic modern oasis with all the comforts of home, including fast wifi, central heat & an AppleTV for access to streaming apps or plug in your own gaming device. Come relax at Falls Creek Lodge! Easy parking for 2 cars in front of the Lodge. 3 can fit if 2 of the cars are smaller and you park them side by side in front of the front door. Island Drive and Alder Drive are dirt roads you must drive on to come to the lodge. They are short. If you book in the winter, you will need have chains for your car and to drive an SUV, even better if it's 4WD/AWD. It doesn't always snow, but if it does, it is difficult to drive on our dirt road. It's a short distance on the dirt road, but it's difficult in the snow. We want to give you space, but if you need a person to physically come and meet you, please contact us through Airbnb and we will arrange it. Forest Falls is a small, wonderful town. The main (and only) road through town is "Valley of the Falls Drive", often shortened to "VOTFD". On VOTFD, you'll find the general store, the fire station and a local restaurant. It's quaint and peaceful. You take 2 lefts off of this main road to get to the lodge, they are both dirt roads that are a little bumpy but easily driven on in any car (EXCEPT when it's SNOWY). You definitely feel like you're off the beaten path once you arrive to the lodge. At night, you will have silence, darkness and tons of stars to see. Easy parking for 2 cars out front. You''ll spend a lot of time on one main road to get here (Valley of the Falls Drive). Then you'll make 2 lefts to arrive at the Lodge, these turns are on very short dirt roads. Easily traversable in the summer, but in the winter, bring your chains (you're required by CHP in this area). The dirt roads aren't easy to drive through in heavy snow, however short they are. Make sure to drive an SUV or something with a lot of ground clearance and all-wheel drive if you come November thru February. Check the weather and be prepared! Keyless Entry! No keys to lose or to return! This property provides security, keyless entry with a personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay!
