Riverbank Vineyard: Orchard Room

Welcome to Riverbank Vineyard. Our home shares a shore with the Similkameen River as it runs through Keremeos B.C. Breakfasts at our B&B feature seasonal ingredients grown here in our lovely valley. This wine region is quickly getting noticed for its laid back atmosphere, the distinctive minerality of its whites and the big, bold reds produced in Canada’s only desert climate. In the vineyard, we proudly grow Merlot, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay which we sell exclusively to Hugging Tree Winery. Our home is nestled between our vineyard and the Similkameen River so peace and quiet are pretty much guaranteed. There are two comfortable rooms available to rent separately. The Orchard Room is kept cool with an overhead fan and a window that lets in a pleasant breeze (note, it does not have air conditioning). This room has its own private bathroom right beside it. This room looks out over the neighbours apple orchard and our own vineyard. The Vineyard Room is the second room, which you can also find listed on AirBnB. It overlooks our vineyard, has air conditioning and a private, ensuite bathroom. Guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the property including an indoor living room, an outdoor patio by the river and the vineyard. We have tables and chairs set up outside in a few different spots, so you can enjoy the vineyard view or the river view, depending on your mood. Guests are welcome to get takeout food and enjoy that at any one of the tables. I live on site with my husband and son, so I am available to answer any questions you may have. Interaction wise - I will pick up what you put down :) If you want a quiet, peaceful visit, I will happily leave you to it. If you’ve got questions to ask and stories to tell, go for it! I always enjoy turning strangers into friends. I’m available by cell or email if I am offsite. The Similkameen Valley has 15 fantastic wineries for you to check out, swimming holes to explore and mountains to hike and climb. This is a perfect base to explore this remarkable region, which is right on the doorstep of Cathedral provincial park. Riverbank Vineyard is a 3 min drive to the heart of Keremeos where you can find a few great restaurants to choose from for dinner or lunch. You would be welcome to get take out and enjoy your food here on the property. It is a cyclist’s paradise, surrounded by winding open roads with a variety of hills and flats to keep you interested. There are playgrounds, beaches and golf courses nearby for warm weather lovers and Apex Ski resort is open for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter for the winter lovers. A car is recommended. I love to cook, so don’t be shy about sharing your dietary restrictions and/or preferences for breakfasts. Vegan or gluten free? Our valley is the organic capital of Canada and we have a plethora of healthy fruits and veggies I can whip into something special. Know what you like and like what you know? Tell me your favs. Eggs and bacon, toast and jam, eggs Benny? The classics are classic for a reason. In training for a big bike ride or marathon? I can do high protein/high cal. Or something light for breakfast and a pocketful of portable breakfast cookies for when you hit the road. Hearty breakfasts can be enjoyed al fresco on our patio overlooking the river. If the weather isn’t on our side, we have a sunny dining area inside.
