Experience the truly epic land and seascapes of the Isle of Skye from a unique perspective: staying in a vintage 1969 American Airstream trailer, beautifully restored, and offering superb views out to a sea Loch and the mighty Cuillin Mountains. Sited in the peaceful township of Fiscavaig on the North-West edge of the island, it's the perfect spot to get away from it all and sample the very best of Skye's stunning wildlife (Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, whales, dolphin and more). Imported all the way from the wide-open roads of Ohio, "Betsy" offers guest accommodation for two people, designed with comfort and relaxation in mind and with an open-plan space, and panoramic views out to stunning sea lochs and the mountains beyond. This is an ideal place for those seeking a unique experience nestled within the extraordinary landscape of Skye. Inside the space you will find: A vintage leather sofa. At your disposal are selections of games, books and magazines - and a turntable record player with a carefully-curated selection of vinyl. A galley style, hand-made plywood kitchen comprising of a mini fridge, two-ring induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, and kitchen utensils - everything you'll need for cooking simple meals. Complimentary milk, tea, coffee, sugar and a welcome starter breakfast pack will be available on arrival and sufficient for the first few days of your stay. A very comfortable, cabin-style double bed with memory form mattress, Egyptian organic cotton bedding, feather and down pillows and duvet is nestled at the cap end of the Airstream and there is ample storage underneath the bed with a small amount of hanging space if needed. An en-suite shower room with electric shower and hand-made plywood units shape the space and beautiful local organic soaps and fluffy towels are included in your stay. We are located on the North-West tip of Skye in a tiny township called Fiscavaig with a picture-postcard bay and walks from the doorstep. The area is dominated by the mighty Black Cuillin mountain range, and the world famous Fairy Pools that lie at the foot of them. A fabulous place to go wild swimming. We have two excellent, welcoming pubs within our local area. The Taigh Ailean, the nearest, is just two miles away and is a lovely walk on a good Skye day and serves great bar food and a good selection of local ales and whiskies. The Old Inn in Carbost is five miles away and serves home classics and during the season hosts live music three times a week. Carbost is also home to the world famous Tallisker Distillery which offers guided tours and tastings daily throughout the season. If mountains and whiskey are not your bag, we have an abundance of wildlife on Skye, from White-tailed and Golden Eagles to Gannets, Red and Black-Throated Divers and many more species of seabirds - all frequent visitors to Fiscavaig Bay and the surrounding area. Wild Red and Roe Deer can be seen all over Skye and often wandering around our land. Dolphin, Porpoise and the occasional Minke Whale can be spotted in the loch, as well as Sea Otters along the coastal areas. If you're lucky you might also spot a Pine Marten. We live in such a restful place that sometimes just grabbing a coffee, sitting on the decking and looking out to sea and the mountains, watching the weather roll in from the Atlantic, is all that you need to set you up for the day.
