The Cartlodge

A quiet loft-like space in the quiet Suffolk country side. Set at the side of the main farm house, the property has access to a herb garden and patio, with its own undercover parking and downstairs bathroom. To access the main living area there are stairs up to the bedroom and living area with a tea making station and fridge. Views views over the lovely garden including pond and orchard, this is a relaxing place for a short stay. The Cartlodge is in the rural Suffolk countryside surrounded by villages such as Stradbroke, Dennington and Laxfield - only a short drive for the famous market town of Framlingham. The closest village is Laxfield, with two lovely pubs: The Kings Head (the Low House) and the Royal Oak. There is also a small museum and Co-op for any shopping you may need. On the way to Framlingham, there is the Dennington Queen, a great place to stop for a refined dinner. Once in Framlingham, you will find plenty of independent clothing shops, cafe’s and an Italian deli to keep you busy. Not forgetting of course, Framlingham Castle looking out over the Mere with a walk along the top of the fortress. Benefitting from access to countryside footpaths and coastal walks, the Cartlodge is ideally situation for short trips to beaches like Dunwich for a more rustic feel, Southwold and Walberswick for sand lovers, and Aldebrugh for a spot of coastal shopping. These are just a few of our favourites! Please note: the property is on a working farm so there will be activity in the farm yard during in the day time and during busy periods such as Harvest. There are also pets on the property that are nervous around new people to be aware of. Thank you for your understanding. This is a fantastic opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life whilst enjoying the fine countryside that Suffolk has to offer. There are many cycle routes so feel free to bring bikes on your stay and lots of coastal and country walks around the fields and along the many beaches the county has to offer. We love living here as it offers space and tranquility away from the business of everyday life . We strongly recommend that you travel by car as taxis and public transport are not frequent in this area.
