Tallan Lake is a small lake in the North Kawarthas with only 25 cottages on this quiet lake. 10 minutes from the Town of Apsley and 2.5 hours from Toronto. The lake is rated 5/5 for water quality and 11/10 for swimming and beauty! Everything you need is here: a quiet, beautiful lake, room to do mini hikes and Apsley is only 10 minutes away and has all the essentials: Foodland, Liquor Store, Library, Drug Store, Convenience Store, Royal Bank, Home Hardware and many upscale Cottage gift shops. Coe Hill is the other town near by which has great dining at the Hideaway Primitive Grill and a great Antique shop, Trashy Treasures. ALSO for golf lovers: Marvel Rapids golf course is on the cottage main road. For fish lovers: Lake Trout and Small Mouth Bass are found in this lake. There is a fire pit just outside of the lake side door and the lake is just a few stone steps away from the cottage. Wake up to loons on the lake and go to sleep with the crickets. We get the morning sun and a good view of the sunset at night. There is a boat launch for a small boat just a couple of cottages away. Fully furnished with all bedding, kitchen supplies and appliances (bring your own groceries, drinking water. Direct lake access for canoeing. No private beach area on the property, but a great beach available via a short canoe, and more beaches a 5 minute drive away; popular sandbar for swimming a 5 minute canoe paddle away! Large lawn area is perfect for out door games- there is a bocce ball and badminton set available! The large BBQ, with picnic table and chairs, makes dinner on the deck fun and easy. The bathroom is spacious, clean and cheery. The two bedrooms are situated off the living room. Canoe, BBQ, lovely picnic table area, big lawn for out door games. Boat launch for small boats close by. This is an ideal cottage for small families, couples. This is a private and small lake. If you are ready to relax and have a quiet week-this is your place. Loud music and large gatherings are rare in this area. The neighbours are the BEST - if you ever need anything that is missing from your weekend they are always super available and helpful!
