Greet the sunrise over lush and rugged Stony Shores! Overlooking the quiet West Basin of Bobs Lake, our cozy, comfy, quaint and charming cottage is nestled among the trees, high atop a rocky coastline. Kick back on the shady hammock, or savor the lakeside breeze on any of our sunny lookout decks. Go for a refreshing dip off our deep dock. Count the stars, roast marshmallows and make memories around the firepit. Stony Shores has a bit of something for everyone -- welcome and enjoy your stay! Built in 1971 and renovated by us in 2021, this 3-season lakeside haven is equipped with all the modern comforts to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We've called it "Stony Shores" because "Stony" is a combination of our two last names, and stones also happen to be the most prominent feature of the surrounding landscape. Take our 15 ft. canoe out on the Lake with a buddy, or retreat on a solo kayak ride. Paddle around on our inflatable boat, or simply go for a refreshing swim. Bobs Lake belongs to a vast network of channels and lakes, and the public boat launch is nearby if you wish to bring your own boat. The K&P Trail portion of the Trans Canada Trail is a short drive away, and there are plenty of landmarks and Provincial Parks to hike. The opportunities to explore this beautiful place are endless. A full kitchen, two good size bedrooms, an open concept living and dining area, and a spacious bathroom offer everything you need. The cottage is stocked with all the essentials -- including fresh linens, blankets, pillows, toiletries, hand and dish towels, shampoos, detergents and soaps -- so you really only have to bring your toothbrush, bath and beach towels, clothes and food! Our screened porch is the perfect shelter for a rainy Spring day, and we have an electric outdoor fireplace for chilly Autumn nights. Electric floorboard heaters keep you warm inside the cottage. Ceiling and portable fans are available to keep you cool during hot Summer nights. The main bedroom can fit our portable crib, which you are welcome to use for your infant or toddler. Four guests can sleep very comfortably on our two queen-size beds, and a fifth person can crash on the living room couch. Coffee lovers like us, rejoice! We offer complimentary assorted Keurig coffee pods and a Keurig machine for our Guests to use. You're welcome to also bring your own K-Cups, of course. If you're planning to work from the cottage, WiFi is available throughout the house, but not on the dock. Our board games, puzzles and cards will bond your family and friends closer together. The variety of yard games like Kan-Jam, SpikeBall, or good old badminton will bring out your competitive sports spirit. Whether you choose to curl up with a good book and fun movie, or you wish to explore the vast wilderness around the property, you can spend your vacation your way at Stony Shores. The cottage is professionally cleaned before and after each Guest's stay, in strict accordance with AirBnB cleanliness and COVID-19 disinfection policies. A sloped gravel driveway leads up to the property from Acorn Lane, and we have plenty of space to park at least four vehicles. The cottage is easily found on maps, and is conveniently located between Verona and Sharbot Lake. You may resupply the necessities for your trip in either of those two towns. Stony Shores is an accessible getaway, as it is 45min from Kingston, 1.5hrs from Ottawa, and 3hrs from the Greater Toronto Area or Montreal. We are available by phone, email, or via the AirBnB messaging app. We'll do our best to respond as soon as possible if you can't reach us right away. Our peaceful and private Oak Shores Cottage Community is conveniently located just off Bobs Lake Road, which connects to Highway 38 and takes you to the picturesque Sharbot Lake in approximately 15min. You can visit a lovely sandy beach with warm clear shallow water, grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, gas station, hardware store, etc. in Sharbot Lake. Crow's Lake beach is also 10min away, and offers a quieter, more private beach and marina. Verona is less than 20min South and has additional amenities, including a Foodland grocery store and LCBO. The cottage is minutes away from the Frontenac K&P Trail, which is part of the Trans Canada Trail. The former rail corridor runs from Kingston to Sharbot Lake and further north into the County of Renfrew. Experience diverse natural and cultural landscapes by visiting the many local landmarks and historical sites nearby. Plenty of artisans, natural food farmers and local craftsmen live in the area, so please explore and enjoy everything South Frontenac has to offer! Please only use laundry on "no spin" cycle. Please bring your own bath and beach towels. Please bring your own firewood.
