Welcome to our sanctuary--your perfect weekend or long-term escape to the heart of serene Westlake Village, CA. Wake up & enjoy Peets coffee by the fountain. It's a 20 minute drive to explore Malibu beaches & wineries, lunch in Calabasas with celebrities. 20 miles more and you'll walk the streets of Hollywood, then have a gourmet dinner in Beverly Hills. Sleep in the next day or walk to 15 casual & upscale eateries, Spa at The Four Seasons Resort, or try Golf at 6 nearby Courses. Sharon and I travel quite a bit, but the keypad gets you in and out securely Located on a flat quiet pocket of 60+ quiet Americana family tract homes bordering a small 9-hole country club, close to the intersection of two popular suburban streets. The new YMCA and a varietal cornucopia of eateries, a large grocery store, dry cleaners, and a hobby shop are all within a 3/4 mile walk from your doorstep. We are near the intersections of Thousand Oaks Blvd. and Lindero Canyon Road (which is a direct onramp/exit of the Freeway 2 miles away). If you are on foot, public bus transportation is near the intersection to take you pretty much where you need to go. Westlake Lake is straight down Lindero Canyon about 3 miles to the south and includes a small yacht club and some great restaurants. Our town is a part of the greater Conejo Valley, so search "The Conejo Valley Guide." This link will show you what is happening in the area--from a world-class Bogey's night club (where Sharon and I first met) and Stonehaus' Tuscany Chateau Winery (Art's favorite)--both with weekend live music. For outdooring, take to any of dozens of beautiful bike and hiking trails long into the Santa Susanna or Santa Monica Mountains (Sharon's favorite). Expand your drive to 20 minutes and you are at The Ronald Reagan Library to the north, or head south on the 101 to experience Calabasas or sun, shop, or surf at Malibu beach. Keep your eye on your GPS for heavy traffic, but to do the BIG attractions and tours in "LA" like walking the Hollywood streets, enjoying the Theater, driving Beverly Hills, or playing on the Santa Monica Pier, you'll need to drive another 30-60 minutes. Finally, for day-long adventures to the north, you are an hour from Santa Barbara and 90 minutes from the Central Coast wine country, beginning at the Scandinavian Village of Solvang. To the south, you can find the new 2.5 Billion-dollar SoFi Rams &Chargers football Stadium and LAX to take a flight anywhere. An hour further south on the 405 takes you to the Long Beach Aquarium or standing in line at the original (and best) Disneyland or and Knotts Berry Farm in Orange County
