An airy 4-bedroom, 2-story vacation home in Nevis, West Indies, featuring a wrap-around veranda with panoramic views of mountain and sea. Located in the foothills of Mount Nevis, off the beaten track in a quiet island neighborhood. Catch a continuous cooling seabreeze on the back deck, sunbathe at the private pool, enjoy the beautiful tropical foliage. The home is bright and airy, featuring high ceilings with spacious lounging areas indoor and outdoors. There are 2 master bedrooms, 2 standard bedrooms, 2 living rooms, with dining and kitchen areas on both main floor and lower level. The house can sleep at least 8: 2 queen beds, 2 double beds, 1 twin bed, 1 double sleeper sofa, 1 twin sleeper sofa. There are 3.5 baths, a combo of shower/tubs with an additional jacuzzi tub in the main master bedroom. We recommend renting a vehicle. Note: Nevis is left hand traffic. You can request a car with left side driver or right side driver from most vendors. There is one, two-lane main road that circles the island, with narrowing roads that turn off into all neighborhoods. Traffic is minimal, and parking is free. There are public buses/vans that can be caught on the main road at bus stops and go all over the island. They only accept cash, are individually owned, and do not run on a set time schedule, but they do operate daily are very affordable. We will only interact with the guests during arrival to show them around the house and if they needed our assistance during their stay at the house. The property maintenance worker will check in occasionally to clean the pool. Our guests will experience simple island living in the Nevisian countryside. The Rawlins Village community is quiet, made up of local families, with grazing goats and cattle as neighbors. If you're quick, you might even spot a friendly monkey running by the backyard pool! Located on the Southeastern part of mountainside, Gingerland Hill Villa sits high, allowing for a constant, cooling seabreeze off the Atlantic ocean, as well as frontal views of Mount Nevis, and rear views of Antigua and Montserrat on a clear day. The neighborhood is great for morning walks, and nightly stargazing. For the adventurous traveler, a challenging hike to the top of Mt. Nevis starts just up the road, or one can venture the backroads on a jungly walk to the nearby Golden Rock Plantation Inn. The closest grocery store, snackette, local bar, police office, and health center are all within a 5 min drive, or a 10 min downhill walk to the main road. Nevis Island stretches a tiny 36 sq mile area, which makes all beaches, historical sites, restaurants, and excursions a relatively short drive away from our home. Car rental is recommended. Parking is available in front of the house. Pickup from airport or ferry boat can be arranged upon request. Guests will be responsible for taxi driver fee.
