The Chestnuts Cottage

The Chestnuts is a traditional Cotswold Cottage in the centre of the beautiful village of Shilton and close to a great food pub. Dating from 1850's it has all the charm of a period cottage with all the modern luxuries of today. A haven to holiday in The Chestnuts is a spacious traditional stone cottage. It has three lounges, a large dining area and kitchen and four bedrooms, two of them masters, overlooking the garden from their Juliet balconies. It is a great house to relax in. The french doors to the patio make it light filled and welcoming. The underfloor heating, goose-down duvets and throws and inglenook wood-burner mean you will be toasty in winter with the sun loungers and BBQ for the summer months. The house and garden are all yours to enjoy. We have a dedicated team of housekeepers that are available by phone and live in the area. Although I live overseas and travel extensively, I too am available by e mail throughout your stay, it may just take me a few hours to respond. Shilton village is a gorgeous, peaceful Cotswold village with the river Shil running through it. The pub run by Martin is small but full of friendly locals and the food is all freshly cooked. We love the fish pie and the bread and butter pudding. Ther is a bus that runs through Shilton but it isn't very frequent, so a car is really essential to explore this lovely area. Or hire bikes and explore more gently. Bike can be hired and delivered to the cottage and there is a cycle rack for securing the bikes at the cottage. Taxis are also avialable from nearby and the numbers are on our website and also at the cottage.
