Comfortable, luxurious 2 bed cottage with garden

Perched on the slopes of its own 4 acre wooded valley, QBV is a traditional Portuguese smallholding now fully renovated. Tasteful traditional Portuguese combines with modern well equipped amenities resulting in a stylish unique holiday base. QBV is all about the details where nothing is overlooked. A comfortable and relaxing central base for the Silver Coast attractions. The Pacific quintanha named after the largest ocean is our largest guest home - 72 sq metres with 2 queen sized bedrooms and a huge bathroom with custom walk in shower. Originally housing the wood-fired oven and primary kitchen (Portuguese kitchens were mainly in a separate building due to the woodsmoke) this building and the barns adjoining it have been gutted and rebuilt, although the cooking area has been preserved and behind the original bread oven door the domed brick oven remains exactly as we found it (minus a lot of spiders and cobwebs). The Pacific has 2 terraces accessed from the double doors of your living room and ground floor bedroom. There is a pellet burner to warm the place during out of summer rentals and with a dishwasher, full oven, 3 ring gas hob, Dolce Gusto coffee maker it is well equipped for a long stay. Each accommodation has its own private entrance and private outdoor space too. There is a central courtyard that links the buildings and gardens surround then lead down to the 4 1/2 acre wooded valley. We will happily provide as much information to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, but the way QBV is set up, you won't know that we are around and vice versa. You can have complete privacy if desired and choose when you want to interact. We lead active lives and spend most of our time either gardening at QBV, walking our dog, surfing or playing badminton. We feel QBV is an ideal spot as your home from home for exploring the delights of the Silver Coast. The hamlet of Bom Vento is only 7km from Obidos, one of Portugual's most famous tourist towns. We are however also only 10 minutes away from a lesser known gem - Buddha Eden, which is Europe's largest oriental garden. Within 25 mins from QBV you have a choice of surfing at world class surf spots such as Supertubos, golfing at Prai D'El Rey, SUP at Obidos Lagoon, beach walks at Foz do Arelho or Sao Martinho do Porto. Alcobaca with its UNESCO Monastery, and the fishing port of Nazare are 35 mins from home. So loads of options for day trips but then the added pleasure of being able to really relax in a truly comfortable private space of your own and make dinner like you would in your own home on return to the peace of QBV. You definitely need a car to truly enjoy staying at QBV. No public transportation comes down the farm roads but we are only 7km from Obidos or 10 mins from Bombarral where there are regular buses for day trips to Lisbon (rush hour every 15 mins). We feel this is the perfect mix of easy access but peace and quiet. Knowing how frustrating it can be renting rural properties and arriving to an empty fridge and cupboards, we provide an extensive starter pack including milk, butter, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, wine and beer along with essentials such as washing up liquid, paper towels, oils and vinegars etc. Recognising the ever restrictive luggage allowances on flights we also provide toiletries and beach towels. Scrabble and Bingo are our 2 rescue dogs - they will happily join you for a walk in the valley!
