Our property features a self-catering luxury apartment located on the ground floor of our house as well as a large fishing lake for pleasure fishing, heated swimming pool with a big sun terrace, BBQ with chill out area and an island with the gazebo. The one bedroom gite sleeps 2 (+1 child of a baby). Extra bed (cot) is available. Fully equipped kitchen with dish-washer, washer, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, electric hob; iron/ironing board; a sitting room with satellite TV (large flat screen), DVD-player + DVDs to watch, books, table games, puzzles, wood burning stove, comfortable leather sofas; a master bedroom with King size double bed & en-suite bathroom with full size bath and shower. Both sitting room and bedroom have double French doors opening to walk out and views over the stunning lake and the countryside. Living area is a large open plan layout with the kitchen and a dining area (seating for four people) at one end and the lounge area around the wood burner at the other end. Wi-Fi Internet access. Tiled floors. Underfloor heating. There are BBQ, garden table, chairs and sun lounges outside. Bed linen, bathroom and beach/pool towels are provided and changed weekly. Welcome pack to get you started, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, toilet paper and cleaning products are all provided. For our guest we provide a map of walking/cycling routes around the area and maps of the region. The information file is updated on the weekly basis. Easel, brushes, oils and canvases available to the enthusiastic painters. Pool heated from May to September. Fire wood for the wood burners can be supplied throughout October-March. Cot and high chair are available on request. There is enough space for a cot or extra fold out bed in the bedroom. The swimming pool is securely fenced. All grounds, gardens and lake are open for discovery and enjoyment. Vast covered area. Large lawns. The garden is not overlooked and is really welcoming from early morning until sunset and is an ideal place to spend time and relax with a glass of wine. The property is fenced all the way around and has a secure parking. The fishing lake stocked with common carp, roach, perch, gudgeon, tench and more. Swim, fish or play traditional French ball games on the pitch. Pick some herbs from the veg garden. Take a stroll around the lake and have a picnic on the lawn. Or walk over the bridge to the newly constructed island gazebo. Go for a bike ride around the country lanes (bike hire available). Life here is slow and peaceful but with an abundance of attractions and amenities close by. Within easy reach are sandy beaches, beautiful castles, pretty villages, restaurants, shops, the famous Puy du Fou, historical Vendée with its walking and cycling routes, vineyards, windmills and ancient architectural features. We live in the premises. 30 minutes from famous attractions parc Puy du Fou Car or car hire recommended 5 minutes drive to the nearest restaurant in Cheffois. 10 minutes by car to the nearest supermarket in La Chataignerie. 30 minutes walk to historical windmills. Fontenay le Comte is 25 minutes drive. La Roche sur Yon - 40 minutes. The Mervent forest is 20 minutes away and the world renowned 'Puy du Fou' is just a 30 minute drive. We have a fresh bread and croissants delivery to our house on Tuesday morning. Vendée is known as the 'Coast of Light' due to the fact it receives as many or more sunshine hours per year as the Cote d'Azur, between 1800 and 2000 per year, the most on the coast itself, hence its nickname.
