Charming village cottage with garden & log burner

I hope this quirky cottage provides the perfect base for your visit to rural South Yorkshire, and that you love it as much as I do! During your stay you'll find yourself in an ideal location for exploring the Peak District, home to some of the best walking routes in England, or sightseeing in local Holmfirth or Sheffield centre. I've created a space to relax, kick off your boots by the fire and enjoy the beauty of our local area. Well behaved dogs are allowed but please be respectful. An end of terrace property, set back from the main road, there is the benefit of access to the front and back of the cottage. You'll find a spacious garden and patio with outdoor seating, as well as a shed that can be used to store bikes etc. Inside, the living room features two-seater sofas and a log burner, along with my own hand-painted furniture that stores games and books - perfect for a family night in! The kitchen is small yet well equipped for short breaks and longer stays, the dining table can comfortably seat up to four people. I provide basic kitchen items such as oil, salt & pepper, as well as everything you need for a good cuppa! Upstairs is the master bedroom, with a king-size bed and ample wardrobe space. You'll also have a lovely view of the garden from the window. The family bathroom to the right has bath and overhead shower, and towels are provided. Another staircase brings you into the second bedroom that boasts a feature wall and twin single beds, suitable for older children or extra guests. A large window gives a view of the park across the road. Parking can be found free of charge anywhere along the main road, Sheffield Road. Alternatively, there is a carpark adjacent to the children's play area on Roughbirchworth Lane,though there is no overnight parking in the play area car park. Regular bus services will take you into neighbouring Penistone, as well as directly to Barnsley. There are also buses into nearby Holmfirth and Sheffield City Centre. Penistone has a small train station with links to Meadowhall Shopping Centre and Sheffield within 40 minutes, and to Huddersfield in 45 minutes. Upon arrival at Bank View you'll find a welcome pack containing all bus timetables and details for recommended local taxi services. The cottage is situated in the quiet Yorkshire village of Oxspring. Within minutes you'll find many rural walks and access to the Trans Pennine Trail, as well as a riverside picnic area. Just down the road is a great country pub and restaurant along with a cosy micro-pub across the road. The Travellers at the top of the hill is also another pit stop for food and drinks, only a 15 minute walk from the property. For the kids, a large play area and field are just over the road along with a sports court and huge football field by the Waggon and Horses pub. The local Post Office, a 2 minute walk, stocks your basic household supplies and necessities. Parking can be found free of charge anywhere along the main road through the village (Sheffield Road). Alternatively, there is a car park adjoining the children's play area.Though no overnight parking is allowed there. Regular buses into Penistone stop the outside the Waggon & Horses or by the Post Office, both within a couple of minutes walk. Buses to Barnsley take around 40 minutes, and stops can be found all along the main road. There's also a bus into Last of the Summer Wine village, Holmfirth. All transport information will be provided in a welcome pack on your arrival, and if you have any questions I would be more than happy to help. The cottage is suitable for older children but not little ones as the log burner might be a danger and there is no special equipment provided for tinies. Well behaved dogs are allowed.Though please don't let them get on the beds or furniture,or leave them alone at the property.Also please clear up after them in the garden.Thank you.Please note there is also a one off fee of £20 when booking if you are bringing dogs.
