The Felloes, Burnham Thorpe - 2 bedroom bungalow
Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Burnham Thorpe, the place of Nelson's birth, the recently refurbished bungalow offers the perfect place to relax and explore the very best of the stunning North Norfolk Coast. It has a large garden and is just a minute's walk from the village pub, where Nelson used to drink. Burnham Market is a mile away and the beautiful beaches of Overy, Holkham, Brancaster and Wells are not much further. Any season, this can be your perfect Norfolk base. People have been enjoying holidays in The Felloes for well over 40 years, with many returning time and time again to enjoy the tranquil setting of Burnham Thorpe and all the wonders of the North Norfolk Cost. After over forty years of service the bungalow, which is set within a large garden, was getting a bit tired and has recently been completely refurbished. It boasts a modern kitchen with a tall fridge freezer, washing machine, cooker, integrated dishwasher and plenty of cupboard space. It has two good sized bedrooms. One of these has a double bed and the other has two singles, although these could be rearranged for you to make another double bed if you wished. Each bedroom has plenty of storage space. The double bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets. The bedroom with two single beds has a built in wardrobe with hanging and shelf space and two bedside cabinets. The modern bathroom contains a 'P' shaped bath with over bath shower, sink with drawers for storage underneath, toilet and an electric towel rail. The living room and dining area contains a pair of two seater settees and a dining table with four chairs. It has a 43 inch Smart TV which has all the freeview satellite channels available. The property has fast broadband and the TV will also readily stream all streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+, but you will need to log into these streaming services via your own account. The bungalow is heated by modern Digi-Line electric radiators. These are set much like a gas central heating system although the desired temperature can be amended on a room by room basis if needed. The drive has adequate space for two cars. The garden has garden furniture consisting of a table with six chairs and a parasol, two recliners, a charcoal BBQ and a chiminea. There garden is edged by mature hedges but these are not dog proof and a dog could get out of the garden through the hedges if it wished to do so. Parking is off road on the drive. Initial access to the property for guests will generally be by leaving the key in a lock box, the combination of which will be provided prior to arrival. However, if you would prefer a welcome in person this can easily be arranged for arrivals at weekends but wouldn't generally be possible during the week. I can be contacted by phone, text or e-mail and help can be provided if needed. We are only half an hour away and would be able to come to the property to sort out problems if there were any. Burnham Thorpe is a small, quiet and picturesque village situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is the birthplace of Admiral Lord Nelson and the recently refurbished pub, within which he used to drink, bears his name. There is a playing field and church and the small River Burn runs through the centre of the village. The larger village of Burnham Market is about a mile away and boasts a selection of shops and three pubs. All three pubs serve food, as does the excellent Socious restaurant. A myriad of fine beaches are within easy reach of Burnham Thorpe. Burnham Overy is just a couple of miles away. This is my favourite beach and it can be reached by a pleasant walk along a flood bank from Burnham Overy Staithe. Quieter than the other beaches it is never overly busy in the height of summer and you can find yourself nearly alone on the vast expanse of sand in winter. The port of Wells is just six miles away and offers another excellent beach and walks through a pine forest set immediately behind the beach. As well as cafe's and pubs/restaurants there are also two excellent fish and shops in Wells and you'll find people enjoying a portion of those whilst sitting on the quay all year round. Holkham, Brancaster and Hunstanton are all within easy distance, with the beach at Old Hunstanton being very gently shelving. Ideal for children to paddle in. If you want to relax peacefully, enjoy some fine food and drink, get plenty of fresh air walking or paddle and swim in the sea then Burnham Thorpe is an ideal place to book your holiday. Many amenities are within walking distance. The village pub and playing field is less than 100m away and the bigger village of Burnham Market with its pubs, restaurants and shops is approximately a mile. Realistically though you will need a car to get to the village and a car will enable you to explore further afield, to take in the many interesting places that North Norfolk has to offer. We know a lot of dog walkers love to come to Norfolk and we want to be able to provide them the opportunity to stay at our bungalow. In order to accommodate this we would ask that all dogs are kept off soft furnishings; that they are not left in the bungalow unattended; and that any muddy/wet paws are cleaned and dried in the kitchen before the dogs are allowed into the rest of the house which is carpeted.
