Gertie the Yurt beautiful space in the countryside
Gertie is our 8 metre yurt. She is a special place, where you can rest, relax, revive and really be in the countryside. Ideally placed to explore Bath and Frome, and close to Longleat, Stonehenge, and Stourhead. She is on our paddock, with shared access to a shower room and our family kitchen. There is a double bed, with a memory foam mattress, lots of blankets, and cushions. She is heated and fully insulated all round so toasty warm on those colder nights. Extra air beds can be added! Gertie is in the paddock next to our home. In our house is our family of 4, our lodger, 4 chickens, 3 dogs, a cat, and a neighbouring farm of dairy cows. We live in the country and are extremely lucky, but if you're looking for pristine ironed sheets and deep silence, we might not deliver. We will however deliver a beautiful space, in the countryside, with an awesome view, and great vibes. You will be using a bathroom in the house, which is shared with our lodger, it has a shower, toilet and sink, heated towel radiator. You have access to filtered water, kettle and toaster in the yurt, but if you want to cook you will need to use the kitchen in the main house, we will show you all of this when you arrive. Please remember that this is our family home, it might not always be tidy with 2 kids in the house, but it is well stocked with everything you might need, we just ask that you tidy up behind you. We are set up as retreat space, there is a hot tub that can be pre-booked from March to September at a cost of £25 and a therapy room on site, so if you would like to book a massage, facial, reflexology, all is possible, right up to a bespoke get away retreat if you are in need. We are based on a beautiful lane, with many walks straight from our front door. There is parking right outside on our private drive and if needed there is access to utility room with washing and drying facilities. Boot room for muddy boots. We are not always around but we will let you know before you arrive and how to find us etc. We live in a beautiful part of the west country, and love how we get a chance to interact with the nature around us. We will send you a (Hidden by Airbnb) map link before you arrive. You will need a car to get around, or you can get to us by public transport into bath and the D2 bus and a bit of walking. We are located on a working dairy farm, it's very quiet, but occasionally can be noisy. We will provide full directions to get to us when your booking is confirmed.
